after exercise and a hot shower a nalgene full of ice water is like cocaine. one of the best beverage experiences.
I'm going to have to go ahead and disagree with this. There are just too many wonderful beverage experiences ahead of chugging some iced water:
keg stands shotgunned good beer Glass of quality wine Snifter of aged Bourbon Ice Cold good Beer funnel of good beer Ice cold cup of iced coffee to wake up to Gravy
My husband never liked coffee, but nine or so years ago, he had already given up sodas and decided he didn’t want to drink any more Red Bulls, so he figured he’d need an alternative source of caffeine. He started out putting a spoonful or two of sugar in his coffee. Even then, he didn’t really like it, but he kept drinking it. Now he drinks like six cups of it a day, no sugar, just black.
I’ve been drinking coffee since I was sixteen. I love the taste of coffee. Doesn’t even have to be great coffee, as long as it’s decent. I’d drink it regardless of the caffeine. It’s not unheard of now for me to drink a cup of decaf with a dessert.
It’s a family thing for me. My dad and grandparents were heavy coffee drinkers. I have all the memories of my grandparents sitting on their back porch all summer drinking coffee.
I don’t need it. I have one glass of tea in the morning but I can go without that. Probably because my body never had that addiction to coffee.
My parents drunk tons of coffee. They also smoked tons of cigarettes. I didn’t follow them on either one.
I wasn’t suggesting that you did need it. I was pointing out that it is a thing a person can develop a taste for.
And coffee and cigarettes are really not comparable.

Not really a fan of sweet tea and also always think it's funny when a restaurant guest complains the sweet tea isn't sweet enough. Your table has a sugar caddy on it like every other table in the United States and you have a teaspoon so you have all the tools at your disposal to fix that yourself, dear.

Or they could just do it right the first time.
You can always make it sweeter, can't make it less sweet. The restaurant isn't going to cater to its very most insane clientele.

I mean I GUESS they could pour it all down the drain, but that would seem to defeat the purpose

I'm not a big sweet tea drinker, but for the sugar to really dissolve it needs to go in while the tea is hot. Splenda etc dissolves fine in cold tea but sugar doesn't.
