I was going over the General Info and it said that "non-framed backpacks" are ok but subject to search. I was wondering if they take a long time and are really pushy about not bringing snacks in and such. I didn't notice too many ppl with backpacks last year, so i was wondering if it was really worth the hassle?

Carried our backpacks in, got searched each time but only hassled once (over cans of beer, which we stood and drank). Nice to have a place for all the junk (rain gear, camera, sun screen, etc) that you might need...
All of the searches I've seen and experienced were not real thorough. It really depends on the security guard you get but generally they weren't even opening packs. Really just feeling them and squishing them to check for hard objects. We snuck a lot of beer in just by wrapping it in a blanket or towel in the backpack. They never checked hard enough to feel or find it.

whats the deal with camelbak bladders? People ever get turned away with those in the pack. I plan on sliding the tube in a holding the bag wide open so they don't need to feel around to much.
I'm not sure but I don't think they let camelbacks in if they are already full of water. They want you to fill the bladder when you get inside. This sucks because you don't really want to drink the water they provide you with.
They always let us in with ours last year after a little convincing that it really was water in there. Some of the screeners made us squirt some out on the ground first. Most didn't really notice.
