Unscientific poll. For those who got 3-day passes off the waitlist, what time did you enter the waitlist? My email confirmation shows 1:01 (1 minute after the sale started). No ticket offers yet.
Almost immediately, 1:01 or 1:02 range.
I originally bought an extra off a friend of a friend. Then got off the wait list on Saturday afternoon and bought one.
I'm hoping once I get the transfer from friend of a friend, I can flip that back to whoever is looking for one. But that Thursday deadline is worrying.
So still no real confirmation on big guests or surprises??? Are people still thinking Joan Baez may appear or has that mind of fizzled out??

I think Tyler is a fair guess for sunday night guest. I would love him to pop up a little bit throughout the weekend and maybe do a few surprise songs somewhere, but him and Billy have played together in the past.

That's my biggest problem with Billy over Lana... Other than the sanctimonious reactions from the Facebook group.
As someone else pointed out, I think Jay might be worried that people could clear out for LDR. Maybe not? But it seems like thats not the traditional closing act on Sunday. More of a low key set. The precedent would be the Beck closer in 14? It was just flat. Ive never seen LDR so i dont really know what her set is like….but her music is pretty quiet.

Explain to them you need to decrease your ticket request from 4 to 2 (or however many) but that you don’t want to lose your metaphorical spot in line. And ask if there’s a way to reduce the requested amount without going to the back of the 2-ticket line.
I did exactly that (well from 3 tix to 2) yesterday. They advised me to reduce the number in my request and then let them know and they’d “boost” me. I thanked them after they “boosted” me and I had an offer within the hour (58 minutes).
I believe another member on here did it as well yesterday and had success as well. I know others on other boards have too.

Personally, if I want to leave early, I’m going to leave early.
The same messaging they bring about getting there early, being open, being present. You just direct that to a headliner.
You can leave early. Just like you can show up late and pound beers all day in the beer garden. But some messaging from the fest encouraging people to stick around for the headliner might do the same as it does for acts earlier in the day.
I hope they pass out pastries again at the Quad Stage. I know, I know… there are no bands with Breakfast in their name on this year’s lineup. But I can still hope.

On a different note, just took a risk in getting tickets at Billsville House Concerts in Vermont based on a Facebook post in the Newport group. The venue looks really cool and the unannounced artist seems to be tied to the Newport lineup in some way. Happened to be in the area for our family vacation. Love that the artist is unannounced as it brings that Newport lineup thrill back for another day. The other artists that have performed there are very much in line with our tastes and so I am willing to "Trust them on this one".
FYI, the host of this event updated with this: "FYI : The band at our house for this show is also playing Newport next weekend. If you buy a ticket maybe it will reduce conflicts on your calendar!" There are only 150 tickets total. Am thinking Caamp is the most likely as it fits with their schedule, they have difficult conflicts at Newport with other bands and they are playing on the 28th which is what he said was a clue earlier. It is also a 'Band' as opposed to Noah Kahan which is my second best choice but he is in California around then.

Probably Heavy Heavy. They’re in Boston on 8/11
Heavy Heavy played there in April so I don’t think they would keep it a surprise like this. [edit] Also, the Heavy Heavy is playing Portland on the 8th so they are out.
And for the earlier comment on Sumbuck, this is two weeks after Newport. Sumbuck is playing in Ohio on the fifth but enough time to get back for this.

Good. The tents are towards the back anyways and people (especially families) should be allowed to have options for shade, especially with hot weather forecasted for this weekend.
