Maybe so, maybe not. All those vocal soul bands kind of rule - The Spinners, Four Tops, Temptations, O'Jay's...
Also, you're in luck.
Temptations + Four Tops 08/13 - Wheatland @ Hard Rock Live Sactown 09/08 - Charlotte @ Ovens Auditorium 09/09 - Durham @ DPAC 09/11 - Macon @ Macon City Auditorium 12/09 - Brooklyn @ Kings Theatre 12/10 - Newark @ NJ PAC 01/20 - New Orleans @ Saenger Theatre
The Temptations now only have one original member or member that was even with them in the 70s. The one original member they do have was basically a back up singer and rarely (never?) took lead vocals. I'd still go see them though. Would be a fun time.
My great grandma would be wild for that double bill though. rip.

If "Ain't Too Proud: The Life and Time of The Temptations" comes through your town, I highly recommend checking it out. They have quite a wild history.

Hell yes - VH1 was playing that movie all the time most summers in the 2000s
MacArthur's Park was written by a white guy and originally sung by Dumbledore.
Yeah I know. Someone in an earlier genre survivor said Diana Ross was the greatest ever. So my question was whether that was under the auspice of Soul or Disco.

Ah! I haven't actually seen the movie, but the stage production was great!

To clarify: these are NOT the same things. VH1 movie was one of several "behind the music" made for TV movies. Another one was Angela Basset in Jackson 5.
And although I do enjoy disco and would rather funk go over it, I wonder how much of current disco love is due to the recent shift towards it in pop music. Idk that it'd have lasted this long six or seven years ago.
