-Will call was not a problem this evening (got in right before 7, during the second evacuation). -The King of the Wooks Goose Island beer was pretty good. Haven't been on Untappd in a while but it would get a solid 3.75 from me. -The art was all very beautiful. -The laser dome looked very cool. Wish I had managed to get in. -Didn't really catch the stage order or notice but what was up with those two stages right next to each other? I heard about earlier issues with sound bleed and that seemed like an obvious point. -Overall, the space around SeatGeek seemed really good. The only problem is the absolute dearth of transportation options and hotel options nearby. If Riot Fest, say, had to move here I wouldn't be too upset or anything about the space, but the location just sucks so bad. I used to commute around this area all the time and I can't imagine what it was like around the area around 5 on Friday. I've reiterated my thoughts about the Douglass Park situation in the Riot Fest thread so I won't rehash that here. But this fest felt a bit odd...it's not clear if this'll come back next year (kinda hope it does in some form, the concepts were all really good) but this kinda seemed like the light turned green for other festivals to come here in the future.

That's it! Kind of a long review for 20 minutes.
i think your last point articulates the issues of the venue well. the actual grounds i thought were nice and a good layout (despite sound bleed issues) but the location was more questionable. when i was trying to find parking i took a quick drive through a neighborhood across the street to see if anyone looked like they would let me park there but i did not get the vibe that i could. literally no parking lot across the street from any direction so you're forced to use the venue's parking, which was $40 for me and from what i can tell was about how much it would've been if i took the initiative of buying one before
and yeah having stages side by side is fine but why would you have them playing next to each other lol. that's like having two records on with a crossfader smack dab in the middle. surprised production didn't catch that before it happened

You are literally the only person I know who would be able to write 300+ words on something they attended for 20 minutes.

check your bank accounts. reports on reddit, twitter, and facebook of people getting charged thousands of dollars from presumably the beer stations because it comes up as "seatgeek stadium" as the vendor
Top 5 sets: 5. STS9 partial (only caught a few songs and sounded good but not 2011ish Bonnaroo sunrise good) and Phil partial (tweedy started to put me to sleep vocally so I unexpectedly went to war on drugs…made it back for Franklin’s Tower) 4. Goose (only 3rd time seeing them but they have to be a top 10 current live band) 3. War on Drugs (missed this year’s roo set for Arlo Parks, which was still right call but glad I had a chance to see them again on this tour) 2. Hiatus Kaiyote (didn’t realize how good this band is live, would love a Bonnaroo late night this/that set next year…I could be whack but felt some neo-soul vibes at times) 1. Animal Collective/Kamasi Washington/JRAD (top 3 most anticipated but none of them happened…fairly certain one would have grabbed the top spot)
Pros - Didn’t realize the whole complex would have so much turf…clutch - Inside the laser dome was bonkers visually and the music sounded great (caught some of dead inside) - I didn’t notice any phone snatching or anything shady but don’t follow reddit/twitter/instagram so more shit may have happened without my knowledge - Potential to be decent fest if they work out the first year kinks Cons - Evacuted 3 times on Sunday and no one had a clue about anything…complete shit show but calm - Soundbleed was noticeable - It appeared that perhaps inside the stadium would host the headliner each night because there was a stage and a giant screen but maybe they didn’t sell enough tickets to justify - Heard a lot of bitching from locals about the effort it took to get there because no L stop nearby from what I gathered - Needed more areas with port-o-pots and food and maybe drinks

I really enjoyed the weekend. Goose, War on Drugs, Dawes are all top 5 favorite bands for me, and I got to see them all (caught the Dawes aftershow Sunday despite the shit weather-really helped save the day). Delay communication wasn't really great in my opinion, and the sound at the Canopy day 1 was utter dogshit for the entirety of the day. Lots of stuff to work out for this fest if they want to stick around, but I'll definitely go again if they put together a comparable lineup.
