Kinda shocked there wasn't already a thread for this festival with how solid the lineup is. I'll be making the trek up to Chicago to meet some Roo buddies from the area for the fest, anybody else gonna be there?

If I didn’t have a lake trip this weekend I would be looking at some last second flights. Somebody on CashOrTrade is trying to sell a pair of wristbands for $130 each.
if anyone was wondering if margo price will show up for goose's set i left this comment on her instagram post that was asking who she should sit in with and she liked it. grain of salt but i kind of assumed she'd pop up
I'll probably show up for a little bit of Animal Collective before Phil, but won't stay long since I've never really listened to them and I'm not going for them
On Saturday I'll get there in time to see Orchard Lounge before Goose, and then leave after Goose
Bummer Animal Collective cancelled, their latenight roo show was lava!
Damn, guess I’ll just wander around until Phil? Sucks for people who really wanted to see them. I’m on the shuttle with someone who was here to see them, he’s not happy lol
Shuttle was 40 minutes late. Will call line took an hour. Barely made it in with enough time to pee, get another beer and post up but made it in time for Phil. He fucking killed it, worth the hassle of getting down here. Sound was kind of quiet at the start, to the point where the crowd shouted turn it up! Lol. Also felt like the bass was noticeably louder than the rest of the band during a lot of it lol. Was able to get a really good spot during the set break compared to where I started. Feel like everyone had some good solos but loved the sax from Karl Denson, special shout-out to him. Favorite songs were probably Ripple, Not Fade Away and New Speedway Boogie but everything was great mostly. Glad I was able to see him and knock him off the list!
The people I observed/interacted with were also just as interesting as the show lol. I may come early tomorrow just to people watch, the geriatric wooks were out in full force and I loved every second of it

got here a couple of hours ago and i’m having a good time so far. they don’t have any signs saying where day of parking was so that was annoying. astroturfed fields are sooooooo nice. lot of vendors and art installations are cool and coachella esque. andy frasco was a lot of fun. ready for goose! i’m in a cutoff mario cart shirt and have a clear backpack say hi if you pass by 🤟
Goose was fantastic last night. Played a little under 2 hours and only played 7 songs lol. Hot Tea with Cory Wong guesting was definitely the standout for me last night, so funky. Really liked that they played 4 songs from the new album, I really enjoyed that one and was especially happy they played Arrow. Wasn't too crowded or too difficult to get a decent spot, this festival is so under attended you love/hate to see it. Feels pretty basic saying this but I'd still like to hear both Arcadia and So Ready one day, maybe next show (whenever that may be)!
The Laser Dome is so sick. Saw Orchard Lounge in there and wish I could've spent more time inside. Leaving sucks though, give yourself a couple extra minutes especially if the line is long if you're there today they only let you in/out one at a time.

goose was awesome!!!!! had great jams on pancakes, madhuvan, and arrow and the two guest sit ins were top notch, that might’ve been the best hot tea so far. for a festival set they packed in a lot so that’s really cool.
only other bands i saw start to finish other than goose was andy frasco and cory wong. andy was so fun and it made me wish i saw him at bonnaroo. hadn’t heard of cory wong but was really impressed. probably the most engaging instrumental guitar music i’ve heard in a bit.
i LIVED in the laser dome. put one at every music festival. air conditioning was nice, they had cushions to lay on, the lasers were state of the art, and the djs weren’t too bad. it was like the meatwad you used to be able to go into at bonnaroo times 100 since it took up an entire domed soccer field. i was wondering how djing dead songs during dead inside’s set would work but it was just a bunch of people on drugs sitting down and taking it all in. was in there for an hour then went back later to take a short nap before cory wong.
i don’t even have much to complain about. they didn’t have signage as to where to go for day of parking so i took a lap around the stadium with a decent amount of traffic before figuring it out.
schedule/lineup wise, i thought friday was way more loaded then there aren’t even that many conflicts on saturday or sunday. sts9 v goose is the only one i can imagine people being tripped up on. when there is a choice it’s a bluegrass act v a jam act and a lot of the main stage acts play unopposed with only the laser dome running at the same time.
and yeah it was pretty sparse but that’s an issue for promoters and a blessing for attendees. the fest exceeded my not that high expectations and did a good job at being a jam fest with a little bit more to offer if you need some convincing. i hope it can improve and grow and the fest grounds are nice
Really sucks they just went radio silent went the lightning actually started and still haven’t said a word since. They were doing a pretty good job with communicating up until there was actually something to be concerned about. Had a blast on Friday and Saturday though! Pretty bummed right now to be missing JRAD and Khruangbin tonight but I definitely danced my ass off this weekend. GOOOOOSE was easily my favorite set. The laser dome was one of the coolest things I’ve seen at a festival and Freakbass was so awesome opening it up. Wish I could’ve sent this message tomorrow but wow I had a great time
