tartar is a great condiment. what do y'all put on your fried shrimp poboys if not tartar sauce? come on now.
i will agree most off the shelf tartar sauce is trash, but it's not complicated to make. mayonaise, chopped dill pickle, fresh dill, squeeze of lemon, bada bing bada boom you've just elevated your whole dish with an acidic umami.

I see tartar and immediately go back to Long John Silvers. Agreed on making it vs shelf bought but you can make that argument with every condiment. Even ketchup is good with tarragon.
Full Disclosure: I hate pretty much all white condiments.

I don’t have any particular issues with tartar sauce itself, but I don’t eat water creatures, so I don’t have any use for it, which is why I was voting for it. Having said that, I started to switch my vote to ranch, which is fine, but not something I usually eat. Other options are almost always better, and I think ranch is just highly overrated.
Ultimately, though, rather than throw away my vote on something that wouldn’t make any difference, I switched to Worcestershire. I love Worcestershire as an ingredient, but I’m kind of in agreement with the argument that it’s not really useful as a condiment at all, so I don’t think it should outlast blue cheese dressing, which is good.

honestly that is a solid retort. i prefer tartar on seafood but remoulade is great.

and y'all definitely have me feeling like a weirdo for putting worcestershire directly on my steak. it's the only sauce i put on steak other than straight uncut horseradish.

I usually only do salt and pepper on my steak unless I opt for a Gorgonzola crusted or something. I have never used worcestershire as a condiment. I am only not voting it now because unless cream is explained (it's obviously not going to be), I can definitely see using worcestershire as a condiment over cream.
