Sheesh- times are tough. We too were introduced to festivals with Firefly 2013 (still one of my favorites) and returned four more times. FF drew 80,000 and 90,000 in ‘14 and ‘15, proving it COULD be the premiere east coast festival. The best years featured a solid alternative/indie/rock base, and offered plenty of great rap, pop and EDM acts that we wouldn’t otherwise see individually. The grounds are as nice as any we’ve been to, but yeah the 20-30” hotel commute some years was a drag. As much as I liked Fall Firefly 2021, it must’ve really hurt the college and high school crowd draw.
I hope they return to the 2012-2016 format in 2024.

Yea I can't say why exactly, but 2017 felt like the first "shift" in the Firefly arc. It probably started with that terrible poster font and listing like 600 hub artists on the poster.
