Today, we separate the wheat from the chaff.
Today, you all make a choice. Will I stand on the right side of history? Will I fight for freedom? The freedom from oppression and from condimental tyranny. Mayo has been a staple in every American kitchen for decades. Its simple, supple and adds an indispensable zest to any sandwich it is blessed upon.
To let it go, while Salsa is still here, would be a crime against humanity. Next time you make a roast beef and swiss sammy, or a classic bologna and cheese with potato chips, reach for your salsa jar and remember this day.
Vote your conscious. Vote for freedom. Vote for America.
I am voting salsa. I don't own it, I don't order it. If it's offered free at a restaurant and it's sitting in front me while I am hungry and waiting for my food? Sure. But that's where it ends. If I order nachos or something, I order no salsa, double sour cream.
I am happy with where we are. Mustard, mayo, and hot sauce are definitely 3 of my top 5 condiments.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

A vote for mayo today, is a vote for hot sauce tomorrow. The Salsa conglomerates are trying to keep us divided. Keeping mayo in this, and salsa out is the only way salsa loses to hot sauce.
Hot sauce is like the craft beer of condiments. You're either into it and enjoy the hobby of trying new ones, or you aren't and think it's pretentious.
Or you have a sensitive tummy and aren't down with the (literal) hot shits.

Yep. The same people who want Hot Sauce gone, will come for salsa next. I think if anyone wants Mustard or Mayo to take it all, they need to get Salsa out now.
Mayonnaise goes best on white bread on your baloney sandwiches. Eat it up America. Have it with Diet Coke. Get your loved ones to go full bukake with it. It’s not in my kitchen, but in your corner of Trumpworld, they are whispering about how your mind has been taken over once you allowed yourself to believe that a jar of ovum product was the top condiment. Tommy Tubberville is counting on you.
salsa as a condiment is only good on a couple things but hot sauce is better.
most of the "salsa" that people are going to fire back with like "I only eat Primal Halibut TM with chopped vegetables from the Freshest Gardens" is more of a pico anyway.
sort of feels like it shouldn't have been in this in the first place, nothing else really had a mid level of "it's just blended vegetables", without stuff like hummus or pesto it just really stands out

since we are approaching the end of this thing i want to say i respect how steadfast and consistent your "salsa is bad as a condiment" takes have been, even if I disagree.

One other thing to consider, is Mayo is an ingredient in many other sauces. I dare you to start any kind of fancy sauce without mayo being the creamy base.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

While I originally supported the separation of hot paste and hot liquid, I wish they were together now. The grey area is too vast with too many quality sauces implicated. When I think of hot liquid I think of the aforementioned Tabascos and Cholulas and Louisiana etc. The big name brand stuff you find on a table at a diner. These are good but not better than salsa, on average. Its hard to gauge with the general category of boutique sauces which are hot liquid and which are hot paste. If hot sauces were a united category, I would think they should beat salsa, but I dont know where to draw the line.

I’m about to make a bad ass mushroom sauce for a stuffed roast. It contains some olive oil but no mayonnaise. And the sauce aka gravy, will be excellent.

This aint ingredient survivor though. That's why soy sauce went out earlier than it should have.

exactly!!!
I use soy sauce in cooking all the time but not that often as a condiment. So why does Mayo get to stick around by way of its utility in things other than being used as a condiment??
Also re salsa versus hot sauce, I do love salsa but basically everything I put salsa on I also put hot sauce on — and the reverse isn’t true.

I'm probably in the top percentile of Inforoo users who eat salsa, I'm going to eat some now, but facts are facts
