Some thoughts since I'm still on a Bonnaroo high and looking forward to this next festival: There are more conflicts for me here than at Roo! Friday will be busy. Have to start with Hurley, then will check out the surprise set, then Heather Redman. Prolly see all of Shannon though I wanted to see Meridian Brothers. Then see some of Sierra and then most of Geese. I wonder what Moths x 3 is at Creekside late night? I will be Lido Pimienta likely regardless but just curious as I don't see it listed anywhere. K.V. and L.P. into the Campground shows should be awesome. Saturday should be less busy but will still probably try and split all the sets on the Snow Fork and Porch stages from 6 on. I like him but still can't believe Alex G is a Saturday headliner. How great would Fleet Foxes be there? Should be another awesome late night with Altin Gun then onto the Campground. Sunday is stacked, as I want to see everyone it seems. Will prolly not split Wednesday or MJ as I will see Garcia Peoples the night before and saw Alvvays there a few years ago. I thought at first it was kinda cheap of them to book several bands for 2 sets but I like it as it gives you flexibility in your festival schedule. Looking forward most to Big Thief. Too bad it all ends early Sunday night, will have to fill the time with camp shenanigans. So they eliminated one stage from last year, but to me it doesn't seem like there are that many fewer artists. It seems like the tickets are selling well, it will be interesting to see how many people they pack in this year. I expect it to be a bigger crowd, last year felt like a trial run at the new site.
Feels like NMF has been tinkering with the schedule a lot, so the clashfinder is going to be a bit off. The Sunday changes to have MJ Lenderman lead into Wednesday make sense, I assume they'll share equipment, I am bummed that Alvvays and Wednesday conflict now though.

Yeah I was wondering about that, seems that they tightened up the Sunday schedule when there really wasn't that much on there to begin with. Oh well, I'm still pumped for this. We are getting in tomorrow around 4 or so and will be in the campground with a LADIES MOSH PIT banner on our canopy next to a Shaq face! Anyone is more than welcome to stop by and say hey.

Sierra Ferrell was the surprise Creekside set. Heather Redman, Nick Shoulders, Shannon and the Clams, Geese, Kurt Vile, and Rose City Band was a great day of music!

I need to humbly retract all Alex G slander. Great show, great headliner, crowd was into it. Charlotte Cornfield to Lucinda Wiliams to Margo Price to Jupiter and Okwess to Alex G to Altin Gun to Garcia People. This fest is just the best. Margo came out to sing 2 songs with Lucinda, including Rocking in the Free World.
More thoughts to come but man Sunday was maybe the best NMF day I've experienced in all the 7 times I've attended. Wednesday -> Big Thief was the perfect way to close out the fest and the latter covering Michael Hurley really sealed the deal for me

Heck yeah glad to hear you enjoy Rose City Band. I really like them.
Confirmed on Instagram to be coming back next year 7/19-21 (EDIT: they removed the dates lol). Betting this will conflict with p4k fest again, but I'll take it if they get a few crossover acts again

Didn't see as much as I wanted to on Sunday but still had an awesome time. Big Thief, so freaking good. I like their Nelsonville setlist better than Pitchfork got. Nelsonville seems to have settled on a consistent winning strategy for the past several years: Upper mid-level indie to headline, a living legend or 2, international party bands, and up and coming country/folk/Americana to fill in.
We had such a great time this year. Loved the little layout changes. Didn’t miss the fourth stage much.
It’s amazing to me how they just book really strong, solid musicians. So many of the acts I saw were thrilling live, light years ahead of their recordings. Had a lot of “you had to be there/you should see them live” moments. I’ve only been going the last two years, but this is quickly equaling the amount of happiness I used to get from Bonnaroo.
Acts I really enjoyed of what I saw: Sierra Ferrell, Jesse Daniel, Toecutter, Rose City Band, Jupiter and Okwess, Alex G, Jay Skaggs. The students from Stuart’s Opera House’s program are always a treat, too.

Yes! Perfectly said, they seem to really focus on quality live performers, which early Bonnaroo well. Nick Shoulders I did not connect with at all pre-fest, but live he was so passionate and talented that we were captivated the whole time.
