It's remarkable how each year people have a meltdown and over-worry about this shit. The only year that thing went sideways was 2021 due to the Pappy's drama and pandemic, but even then the scaled down event was pretty awesome.
As one person I know, and another stated on Reddit, they just saw Phil in San Diego at the SD Freak Out show and everything is moving full steam ahead with this year's Daze.
I saw Phil at the SD event Saturday night but I didn't talk to him. I can report that Jjuujjuu put on a good show, but played second despite being listed as headliner and only played for like 30 minutes. The event was still a lot of fun, though.

Sounds like DD is cancelled. He was so upset he couldn't even finish a whole set in the headliner spot
I saw Phil at a grocery store in Los Angeles yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for Desert Daze news or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

I feel pretty confident were getting Frankie again and maybe wine lips. There's always a band that plays Hi dive in Denver the week before DD and they're both playing together. Then one day in Albuquerque, then nothing until the end of the month

Every time I see a post for a unrelated show promotion or announcement I lose a bit of my sanity.
I understand why they do it, but for someone who only has intentions on going to the fest cause of distance, it drives me insane
They need a separate social channel/presence for DD Presents. It's unfair to use their festival social pages and presence for non-Lake Perris festival promotion.
Yeah this is getting ridiculous. Im not sure if I am more annoyed, frustrated, or just concerned about whats going on. Absolutely love this festival and know that no matter what that the lineup will be great. But it would be great to start making my plans and get my ticket already
