Exactly. I honestly doubt this will be a "festival" at all. LA isn't built for it. They would have had to have this planned like this for a looooot longer anyways if they wanted to pull it off.
What's happening is they're scrambling to get these bands re-booked so they can attempt to fulfill contract obligations and still get some money out of this (as well as put on some good shows).
But this won't be a festival. I can't see them selling festival tickets to this. Every single one will be DD Presents and sold individually.
Well you can keep up with the Doomsday thinking and jump to the worst-case conclusion. I know being in this holding pattern sucks, but nothing is definitive yet, and it could still work out.

To be fair, in Austin we currently have Levitation Presents shows. They're not related to the fest itself, they just work with promoters here and tag their name on specific shows throughout the year. Its pretty much the same as how DD has done earlier in the year too.
Not that it eliminates the idea of a change in fest structure, more so I'm not sure that it's clear evidence of the shift.

It really sucks for those that have to travel. I guess I'm optimistic because its not far from my house. Yea I'll be bummed if it doesn't happen but as long as I get my money back (quickly) I'm good.

This is exhausting. It's just hopefulls vs hopeless over and over again. We're all just getting mad at each other for either thinking it's happening or thinking it's not lol
This is why they need to say SOMETHING. If DD was happening (IMO) Phil, or someone, would have squashed this beef a while ago.

Feel like we're getting some sort of announcement today of whatever varietal. It's not like the DD Instagram to not slam us with the announcement of another Desert Daze Presents concert...

Could be cancelled but isn’t this exactly what would happen if the festival was reducing its scope after losing some funding? Bands being rescheduled for local shows, people hearing through the grapevine that things are being cancelled, etc?

Same. I'm probably more hopeful because Phil has found last-minute, viable solutions in the past.
Plus, I'm not too far from the venue so my travel plans would be simple.
