So, uh, while you were sleeping, Saudi Arabia with the shocker of shockers...
Like, actually outplayed them? Or, question if they bought people off?
Argentina sucked in the second half, but had 3 goals called back for offsides by VAR in the first half. Plenty to be suspicious of, but the Saudis definitely outplayed them late. Embarassing loss no matter how you slice it.

Looks like the well-rested and more familiar-with-eachother teams are really succeeding so far at this WC. Doesn't bode well for France later today (6 nil incoming)

Yeah I tried to enjoy this world cup despite all the warning signs but the 4 disallowed goals in the Qatar/Saudi games and the blatent blackmail to get rainbows and LOVE banned and watching these teams bow down to the government demands....
I'm out.
My favorite sport since I was 8 years old is ruined. I am so fucking bummed.

Weren't all the offside calls correct? just because they favored middle eastern teams that doesn't make it match fixing lol doesn't Qatar hate Saudi Arabia?

At least one from today’s game and the first one from the Ecuador game were super suspect. I’m not saying it’s match-fixing, but I also don’t just blindly trust that half of a guy’s arm is offside because they had a cute animation that says so.

you could say VAR has been broken for years but I don't think that's Qatar specific. Also again, I don't think Qatar wants SA to do well in this tournament and Argentina going far is probably the best case scenario for FIFA.

My point is more about VAR being broken. Even the NFL review process has gotten better in recent years. But right now, VAR just feels like a tool built for the specific purpose of disallowing goals.

I think VAR is fucked but offside calls are pretty black and white.

I think both countries are capable of bribes independent of each other. I think FIFA wants at least one anti-LGBT country in the round of 16.
It's more the banning of rainbow hats and watching the European FAs bow down to their pressure that has me completely done after 3 days. If I was a player I'd be kissing my teammates during goal celebrations. These wimps can't even wear an armband. Meanhlwhile the Iranians are probably going to jail for not singing their anthem
UEFA, CONMEBOl, USA and Mexico should consider leaving FIFA in the future. FIFA only has power because the federations cave to them.
Be careful what we wish for. The Qataris and Saudis will be there ready to start a LIV Golf type Euro SuperLeague. Instead of leaving FIFA, just don't listen to them. Wear the armbands

We all saw what happened the last time a "super league" even tried to happen.
