Welcome to what will surely be Inforoo's dumbest game: TUG-O-WAR
It works like this:
Get 2 teams with an even number of players (min 2) and one ref
Teams could be drafted or randomly assigned with a random number generator.
The ref uses a random number generator to assign tug strength (yes, I'm sticking with that) to each player per round.
The tug strength of the players from each team is added up. The higher total tug strength wins that round.
Best of 7 rounds wins the match.
We would want to use the same RNG every time. If anyone has any favorites please let me know. Ref would obviously have to be unbiased and truthful about what numbers were generated.
This is the basic mechanic.
If this catches on, I'm thinking of adding 'power up' mechanics such as:
Audience members "cheering someone on" can give a player a buff.
Powerups that can be given in different threads. For instance if your post is featured on the Bonnaroo Headliner Recap Thread as "Post of the day" you'd receive a 2x multiplier that you could use once at any point in the future.
Powerups would follow you until you use them and would be tracked with some sort of naming convention. Like if I had one 2x multiplier and 2 "retries" I'd always write my name "cincy (1.2x, 2.r)" in this thread.
For this to actually be interesting there needs to be like, one other main mechanic that the players actually do so it's not just watching. But hey I did say it was inforoo's dumbest game. Let me know if you have ideas.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
