Ok those are just poachers. The cops do not have Escort shirts they always wear full gear. Not saying this didn't happen, just that they were not official cops in any capacity
They're absolutely not on duty officers. Not sure if they are just security, or if they're off duty employed by the festival. In 2022 there was a guy in the Grove aggressively trying to sell his sand to people, and being extremely creepy to women. He was asked to pack it up and leave and when he refused and tried to fight the Escort dudes, they handled the situation, then handcuffed him with real metal cuffs and packed his shit up and had it towed. Not sure where he went after that.
They're definitely employed by the festival, and are at least official security.
I agree they are probably off duty officers - but they are also doing a seizure and search without any gear except zip ties. No one to call back to if necessary and doing the most petty shit ever. I can't even say ACAB because while I never those shirts on anyone - they seem like.... complete fucks and I hope they found not a goddamn thing.
I can believe they are a private security agency to handle wacked out people who are posing a threat to others or themselves but I highly doubt they are authorized to raid campsites for drugs because they smell some weed. Security does not equal drug enforcement as far as I know. Definitely seems like poaching. Feels like "hey our shift ends in an hour lets score some shit from the kids who seem least likely to put up a fight." The kid sitting with his back to them looks scared shitless.
omg i forgot about all these rumors from last year. i haven't been on reddit much this time around so idk if the rumors mill for that kinda stuff is as strong this year.
@gno were talking about all the inforooers we saw over the weekend and I said, "Somehow I haven't seen esteban all weekend!" I feel like I saw you at every show last year. Deto came up to where we were dancing with you in tow right at final hours of Roo with a "Look who I found!" Like an Esteban gift to close out Roo.
We saw several of the same shows too which was weird we didn’t cross earlier. I don’t even think I ran into Jaz at all or if I finally did I was out there. I didn’t see Death Cab until Umphrey’s. And yeah I ran into lots of people more frequently last year. I still ran into lots of people but presumably the differences in crowd size was the main contributor as well as me not being able to make the brunch. Overall I think I saw Festive Browell the most. He was even kind enough to come give us hugs goodbye Sunday morning at Makaya. I caught several shows with or near Pablo, Teddy, Farris, zac and Arch was around a bunch too. Jake and Mad Dog sightings here and there and a couple times Tranter and cum. Lots of others like Ozzy and Kern I ran into maybe once. Didn’t see Todd that much but he was rail and mosh pits and I only got in one. Always pleasant and makes me happy to see anyone off here who I do all consider family level.
By the end of the weekend I was lamenting not running into you! I usually see you a few times at Roo but it didn't happen this year. Missed cdevaney too!

Same. I assumed you’d be to my back right and looked over my shoulder a bunch of times in This tent. I’m sure we saw at least a couple of the same shows there but maybe it wasn’t as many this time? Plus a bunch of those being as crowded as they were. Definitely a regret for me not having been able to say hey. Same for Cookin’ Mama who I met a couple back. CM just come snack me in the back of the head next year and say it’s you.
This must be the group that Bonnaroo/Hulu partnered with for the drone shots. This is a neat compilation of some of the footage they got from this year. (Warning: awful music selection)

it's crazy how those crowd shots make the crowd look so much bigger than it feels in the moment. massive. i need to see if there is footage like that from last year for side by side comparisons.

jesus you weren’t lying about the music selection. That’s one of the worst songs I’ve ever heard.

Headliner crowds from the hill looked as big as any I've seen. Odesza's was so big I was worried everyone came for them and would leave before foos. But nope foos crowd looked even bigger.
Memory is a funny fuckin thing but I don't remember the crowds for Gambino in 2019 being that big.

I keep forgetting to say in this thread that Amber Mark on Sunday was awesome and a tremendous talent and I haven't seen her talked about anywhere. Great voice and performer and stage presence. I can definitely see her rising over the next few years.

that's because Gambino was a sub
I mean, a "sub" playing before a LN Phish What set. I'm assuming that Phish set wasn't as crowded as Gambino, I was in le Pít.

that's great to hear! i liked what i heard when listening to the lineup pre-fest, just got caught up at camp saying early goodbyes and prepping for that storm so didn't make the set. was wondering how it went.

Kendrick. Looks like sound platform or ADA. Wish the sound was better but still nice job.
It doesn't matter.. I have the setlist through .fm and we were so zoned in that we didn't realize how quality it was:
N95 King Kunta Worldwide Steppers Nosetalgia Backseat Freestyle Never Catch Me Swimming Pools (Drank) m.A.A.d city LOYALTY. Count Me Out Money Trees Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe LOVE. Savior
Double quote these particular songs destroyed on a very very stressful day. If the certain people know: "I'd rather you trust me, than to love me"

Agreed. Btw, i was talking about the dude who recorded it's sound not Kendrick. The audio isn't bad but it does go loud-quiet-loud a couple of times.
haters won't approve but i saw the Odesza movie tonight and it was so good!!
great balance of story telling, behind the scenes, and show footage. and i cried like a goddam baby, it had some philosophical/emotional moments. if you enjoyed the Odesza show or Odesza in general, i can't recommend it enough.
