This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Speaking of Vinegar Syndrome, they're doing their semi-annual weeklong sale with a daily section of deals. They're far and away my favorite boutique company, and usually release stuff from the other end of the spectrum from Criterion (forgotten drive-in schlock, straight-to-video trash, and all kinds of other fun junk). From today's selection I'd definitely recommend Expect No Mercy, some stupid mid-90s sci fi action starring Billy Blanks (the Tae Bo guy).

spoilered for size. finally got three boxes of CDs unpacked and put on a shelf. at the old place these stayed in boxes in the attic for seven years, but i'm listening to more CDs now and had this bookshelf i wasn't using, and right near the listening room. still have six more boxes of CDs i need to find a place for.
i don't know why that top shelf looks crooked i don't think it's crooked IRL.
on top of the bookcase is the Glenn Gould Complete Original Jacket Collection (one of my most prized pieces of physical media). Then the six Depeche Mode singles boxes, The Fall Complete Original Peel Sessions, Leonard Bernstein Mahler Symphonies, and Pink Floyd complete albums box.
shelf one starts with the audiophile stuff. A bunch of remasters from Audio Fidelity, then a bunch of MFSL/MOFI remasters. shelf two a bunch of jazz XRCDs, then it gets into normal stuff for shelves three and four, bottom shelf is all my Living Stereo classical SACDs (some of the best sounding recordings of all time) and a bunch of japanese SHM-CDs (complete audiophile bullshit but the packaging is cool and the masters are nice).
i think this is most of my collectable/fancy CDs, but i'm betting there are some West Germany Targets and Japanese Black Triangles (my favorites) hidden in some of those other boxes. looking forward to going through those.
here is my dream, a true two channel listening space. i'm so happy with this. also my heavily paired down vinyl collection, i sold tons of vinyl on ebay before we moved. i still occasionally buy a new record (just a couple king gizz records in the past year or so) and am subscribed to the Third Man Vault, but other than that my vinyl purchases have slowed down significantly.
