While Ive put off the Roo for many years I think me and the wife are headed there this year. Lineup looks huge and Im sure the crowd will follow. I read 10 stages this year. Ive been to a number of festivals with multiple stages but curious how Bonnaroo sets up. Can anyone give me a general low down and what to expect. ie how far are the stages from each other. Are some designated for late night sets etc. I dont anticipate being close for much but didnt want to miss a set do to overcrowded gates .

Centeroo is divided into two major sections: the What field and everything else.
There are 3 "big" stages:
What - the biggest stage that is in it's own field. This is where the headliners will play, and typically the headliners are the last act to play, wrapping up anywhere from 11pm-1am each day. Occasionally there are late night acts on this stage that go beyond 1am, but it's the exception rather than the rule.
Which - Not as big as What, but still a stage. Typical to have a big act do a late night set on this stage
The Other - The EDM stage. Typical to have late night sets on this stage (goes all night i think).
This Tent/That Tent - these are stages underneath tents where the smaller acts perform. The Tents will have late night shows going until like 2-3am.
Beyond that there are campground stages, like Where in the Woods which typically goes all night and will be electronic music, smaller or novelty acts. There might be other small stages in centeroo like The Who stage, not sure if that is a thing anymore, and Snake & Jakes Christmas Barn, which again will have novelty acts.
for the stages within centeroo, it doesn't take that long to get between stages. the furthest walk you'll experience is going from the far side of the what field (sometimes referred to as the "bee side" in bonnaroovian speak) to This Tent. Even if it's crowded and you are moseying this will take you 10 minutes tops. If you hustle and the crowds aren't thick you can get anywhere in centeroo within five minutes. here's a video i took walking from the Which to What in 2019:
getting to Where in the Woods or any other campground stage from centeroo can be a bit more of a time investment. there is a security search everytime you enter centeroo, so if you are trying to get back into centeroo during primetime you can expect lines, making it very hard to estimate timing getting from say Where to What. and the campgrounds are huge, some plazas are very close to centeroo, some quite far away, so travel times can vary dramatically. but if you are looking to see for example the acts already announced and not smaller acts, all of your live music time will be spent inside centeroo.
hope this is helpful and hope you have an awesome first bonnaroo.
All the artists on the lineup will play in centeroo, the main concert venue area. Like postjack said, it's easy and quick to go from stage to stage in there. Bonnaroo has started this idea of plazas out in the campgrounds which are usually themed and offer music (e.g., where in the woods does electronic music) and other activities and shows and things. There will probably be another 'lineup' of campground acts and events that comes out later. It can take a lot longer to get from plaza to plaza bc the campground is huge. They had a golf cart tram thing last year but it was a clusterfuck and totally unreliable, borderline unusable. Hopefully that's resolved this year.
The longest lines/choke points are really just getting from the campground into centeroo. At busy times, budget 20 minutes or so to get through those gates, plus the time to walk from your campsite. I'd suggest wandering a bit when you get there to get a feel for how long it takes to get from camp to wherever you wanna be so you can plan accordingly, but bopping around centeroo is pretty quick and easy

Awesome, great info. Im older and actually went the family camping route this year to test the waters. Im hoping its fairly centralized. Def going to have our own fun and catch a few late night shows bit dont miss the days of drum circles and extracurriculars into the sunrise.
Another random question...what is the showering situation like? Wife wants to know
you can pay for showers out in the camping areas. I think its around $10 during peak hours and maybe 5 or 6 during off peak hours (aka late afternoon, early evening).
A lot of people bring solar shower bags and go that route. a lot of people also just choose not to bathe and embrace the filth.

There are two options:
1. The Fountain
2. A fuckton of Axe body spray
I brought a solar shower and a kiddie pool. The kiddie pool didn't happen this last year due to the fact of the water/ice situation. But once we got the water figured out the solar showers were game changers.
They also have showers you can pay for that are pretty great. They do happy hour at weird times and it is only half price, but we had issues with them being super fucking hot due to the weather. Solar showers haven't let me down yet.

Family camping will be in Quasar Collective over here. You'll be next to Soberoo and Soloroo (Smack dab between them if it's the same as last year) This gives you about a 20 minute walk to Centeroo. As said earlier everything on the main lineup will be on one of the five stages within Centeroo. The Who Stage and Where in the Woods lineups should be announced sometime in March.
Awesome info!! Is there a recommended day/time for arrival? ie. Peak times to avoid waiting in line? I'm down with a wait just hate sitting for hours on end.

As she is a first timer, and to maintain the strictest possible safety protocols, she'll be required to shower with a chaperone. You're lucky, she's been assigned to me, an upstanding Roo veteran, not some creep who just wants to see boobs. I'll send you the details privately, and the address to send full body pics to, so I can verify her identity, for safety. This is a free service provided for your comfort and peace of mind.
Or you could chance it of course and pay $10 to use the on-site showers located at all campground plazas. They used to have crappy trailers that were dark, uncomfortable, and never delivered consistently warm water. They're permanent structures now though, and they work great. Or get a $10 solar shower bag, fill it up for free, let it warm up in the sun, and hose off that Roo stank at your campsite.

Check out all the sticky threads here. You'll find a ton of interesting answers, including to questions you haven't thought of yet. Lots of relevant arrival info., although they do tweak things every year and the weather can have a big impact, so there's no perfect formula.

Does this wonderful service apply if she is a he or he is a she?

you should arrive at 7pm on sunday just in time for the old white Foos and hopefully keeping you safe from the queer folx that will be most present throughout other shows throughout the weekend.
Considering you've found the need to respond to my threads as if you are threatened by me I offer you some peace my confused counterpart. May you find peace in your restless soul.

the showering setup goes like this: one well-maintained line with free snacks and Pina coladas as you wait for upstanding cis-het white citizens of america (lucky you to be in this one!), and then another much more poorly maintained line, no snacks and no refreshing bevies, plus a lot of yelling and pushing, for all the rest of the plebeians of course.

All the stages are gay. Except the Other which is bi.
Has this been the case all along? Am I gay for going to this mega-gayfest 9 times? How do I tell my mom? I swear I don't feel attracted to dudes. I'm going to miss Bonnaroo, but I like chicks, football, tools, beer and AMERICA, so I guess I'm out now. Out as in not going anymore, not like out of the closet, because I was never in it, because I'm totally straight all the time. They should post this info somewhere.
