a good example of the overhead lighting is at around 1:12:00 of that video. Sure, the show could work on outdoor but it wouldn't have any of those elements. Since it took so long to get HOLO at Coachella I feel like there was always something missing for it to work or it would have already been on the outdoor. My guess is that there wasn't a tent that could have enough time for set up. The old Sahara (current Mojave) couldn't go an entire day (or more) without the overhead production for the other acts in the tent to give enough time to set up and the old Mojave wasn't big enough. Now you can have the overhead production set up on the Mojave Friday night into Saturday morning (or even the entire weekend) since a lot of the other acts on there wouldn't need any of that production.
I’m realizing I read your initial comment wrong. Yeah I agree the Mojave makes the most sense but I guess we’ll see
I'll see the set no matter what but I'd honestly be pretty disappointed if it isn't Mojave. We shall see.
The only hold up for me with the Outdoor was I thought that the light rig needed lighting elements along the ceiling in order to make the 3D effect work. The fact that he liked that tweet about the Outdoor makes me think that’s probably not the case or won’t be for his festival rig.
The problem with Sahara is it has that stupid sideways orientation and it’s not very deep which creates a bottleneck on the path side and limits the number of people who would be able to watch the set from head on.

Pretty sure those lights on the ceiling are just production used for the entire Creamfields festival itself, not just for HOLO. And for those unaware, HOLO doesn’t use an overhead projector anymore, it’s just LED screens. I don’t see why that would limit this production to ONLY work in the Mojave.
I don’t really buy the whole argument of him not being booked until the bigger Mojave existed to make this work. The Chemical Brothers haven’t been brought back for their live show in a while either and we can safely assume it’s not because of the Mojave. They both simply just haven’t been invited back until now.
