I enjoyed the Bonnaroo sets but it did seem like every other year at one point

With the newly designed website and tour site, I think it's possible he'll release an album before the shows. But so much of it live is improvised anyway that it doesn't really matter whether or not he has formally released anything IMHO.

But yeah, agreed. I think a new album to kick off this tour seems logical and agree with the improv live stuff making that not matter quite as much, interested to see the difference between PL in dub and the fantastic pretty lights or whateva it was.

you're probably thinking more like several years ago. i saw PL a bunch back in the day and can count myself as one of those folks who got tired of him, but that was because of the vibe shift. music got darker and more aimless, and the way he would talk on the mic at shows it started to feel like i was watching somebody slowly dying on stage. phish 2.0 vibes. that's not fun.
his private life is his business but he's signaling he's doing better now. and my goodness that video today got me hype. track sounds so unbelievably fresh. i'm as psyched for new music as i am for shows.
I got a camping pass to avoid a coachella situation, but I'm hoping resale craters a bit for wristbands. Hard to imagine resale will be higher than $500 a week before the fest and I live an hour away so I'm willing to take that risk
Almost definitely RKS. They're on the leaked poster and looks like they used the same size font and 3 lines to hold RKS spot. Hope they cancel again lol

it's an easy (if boring) 5 hour drive for me, and i haven't been to SOSMP in forever. i'd love to make it happen.
Getting heat from friends and family left and right. Friends got Witch VIP on a drunken whim. Last time i camped with them was Bear Creek ‘14 at Suwannee which seems like forever ago. “We always said if it didn’t conflict with Voodoo which isn’t back yet, we would go.” Family is like you wanna go? Yeah but. I paid off my credit card a month ago and charged it to 1000 in a couple weeks on tickets even though I’m dissing shit I wanted to go to (Onyx last night, The Residents tonight). I still got to buy 7 or 8 Jazz Fest tickets :/ And it’s fucked up because motherfuckers want me to go to Brooklyn in September for PL. family trip to WNC with 2 nights of Louder than Life, Peter Gabriel in Houston the week before Hula and then Polyphia Texas run the week after. I don’t want to be even older but sometimes I do wish I was retired and had no obligations and unlimited money.
remembering when i heard Pretty Light's "Sunday School" for the first time. that biggie sample dropped "fuck 'em, i didn't want to go to heaven anyway", cut to like a movie montage with screens splitting and splitting into smaller chunks with me and all my friends calling each other and saying "have you heard this shit you have to hear this shit".
it seems quaint now but like, i didn't know you could just drop biggie into an electronic song.

RKS just announced their fall tour. Seems unlikely for them to be the unnamed headliner unless they close Sunday which I doubt is gonna happen. So who we thinking?

Would have to be them closing Sunday if they come. If we get them, we'll likely get Flipturn since they're touring together!
