thats correct. and honestly, this is what will end up determining where i put my vote today: it's gonna be on the person who feels most likely to potentially still be alive with another maf member.
e.g. durkle/pink/potent does make sense to me in a few different ways (although would be supremely bad luck for them, to have all maf members in the d1 3-way - but pink's delayed arrival could've fucked things a bit for them in trying to shape the runoff more positively for maf), but this is a less concerning trio than, say, samp/durkle or farris/pink because in that scenario, 2 are still alive right now and if we don't get it right, game ends & town loses.

Farris later says he's not voting after laying his vote on pink and then coming back to move to durkle after I called him out for just disappearing for the weekend.

I do agree with Samp about not just letting Pink go through because they were inactive at first. I just never had a better reason from anyone at this early juncture. I'll move it now and see what becomes of it since I'm being questioned and Dan seems ready to name multiple mafia already. Let's see what happens.
The votes in the quoted LLL post are a bit off from where the votes actually were. Pink pointed out just before this that the count (before Farris's move) should have been pink 4, durkle 3, and potent 4. So, the move by Farris gives potent and durkle 4 votes each. Market is going to be the next vote, and that vote will put potent in the lead at 5 and will bring pink down to 2. All of this follows pretty closely behind potent suggesting that the voters for pink move to durkle so that there are clean revotes, but farris says he didn't see this from potent when he moved on to durkle. Farris then asks if market is trying to vote potent off outright without a runoff. The following is what happens after...

I'm not trying to keep changing my vote around, especially when it's going to take 2 people moving off Durkle to even things out compared to 1 person moving from either Potent or Pink to even things. The alternative is everyone on Pink can vote and we can skip going another round and vote someone off immediately. Cutting it a round short doesn't seem right to me but I suppose it's the same process.
So all the movement is away from pink and towards potent/durkle. Given where the votes stood at this point, MD moves to pink without any explanation.

I think he thought farris's and MD's behavior was sus and that there was a decent chance that potent was maf. Once MD was whacked, he put his focus on farris. My working theory is that he has been tracking farris's movements and posts for a while, but he was waiting until he had enough info to make a case against him. I think that is why he made the comment he did on D3 about farris coming to save rummy - to do one more test.
I was fully expecting him to come out with a more forceful argument against farris today, but whatever. I still think this sounds very reasonable. Seeing all this is what made me lower my suspicions about Dan as maf.

I'm following for the most part except two things. First off you didn't call me sus for not posting. You called me sus for the contents of my post. At least that's how I took it. Second, Dan was on me before the MD whack. Once D2 rolled around Dan actually laid off of me.

The D1 runoff was Pink being heavily voted on, then Potent being heavily voted on. I figured there was some mafia movement involved at the time for there to be such big swings and thought it was strange. I also didn't realize this was Markets first game. If I was with Potent I did a bad job of doing much to save him.
im between two moves and there's a specific thing im wishing n waiting to see (yes im being vague intentionally) but might need to just flip a coin instead here soon

i've been thinking if 2 maf are still alive, farris/durkle/pink is a possibility. i feel like farris and durkle have talked around each other a bit in this game, if that makes sense. like they'll mention each other and maybe drop a nuanced comment that the other seems a little sus, but in that sort of way that we know maf can do - without then backing it up with action.
but looking back at this, idk. for a maf farris to place initial vote onto teammate pink (yeah sure, totally common) and THEN shift it only to place it...onto another teammate. im not saying it couldnt happen, but if potent was town and he had that option to move to instead, idk i think he'd either do that or just sit tight on his teammate. one maf moving off another to the remaining third teammate d1 draws unnecessary attention for inspo who obviously has one of their names.
again, not impossible, but at this point might be enough for me to throw the farris/durkle combo out the window for top suspects. that is, them together. i think farris/potent/pink is still possible, and potent/pink/durkle is - as is pink/durkle/samp

and before anyone accuses me (again) of just entirely disregarding the notion that dan could be maf, i do think he could potentially be in the scenario of:
dan/pink/potent
but dan/potent would mean dan threw the kill shot on his teammate d1 - those two deciding to go ballsy with that move isnt out of the question, especially since another teammate (pink) would've been in there too so dan voting his only non-teammate durkle could've raised serious eyebrows for inspo who would have one name of dan/pink/potent and they'd be looking for who did and didnt vote for them. but.

Is there a world where it's Potent - Pink - Durkle? That would be the cherry on top of this game.
it would be hilarious if this is it, that all 3 maf ended up in the D1 threeway. i know 2 out of 3 being in the D1 runoff has certainly happened before - but has all three? it's the worst possible scenario for mafia because inspo can watch movement of/around their given, no matter what.

All three of them being in the D1 runoff is the only reason their other moves against each other would make much sense. Once they got in the runoff together they make a plan to split into 3 individuals.
To completely take away the analysis part of votes and things said etc, the reality is that the way the fake panned out (which I knew right away was coming from a teammate’s idea, or at least some amount of support behind the scenes for pink), I think it’s gotta be Potent as one. Or Dan who could also for sure have suggested something like this. Maaaybe cum? But something like pink/durkle/Samp or Farris doesn’t add up for the play.
From that viewpoint, Dan/potent/pink makes sense but I don’t really want to go down that rabbit hole. If that’s the trio, town gets D5 even if we don’t win here so I’m just not gonna focus on that potential rn

I’m not mentally eliminating them, which is why I clarified “maaaybe cum?” but logistically speaking, I’m just trying to separate out 2 maf still alive (so only pink is dead) or only 1 maf alive (so it was potent orrrr cum). That fake just feels similar to shit potent has suggested we pull when mafia together in the past. Cum definitely could conceive of it too, but gun to the head it feels more potenty.
To the cum/pink/Samp theory, though: do you think they would’ve made that call to fake, with it being pink v cum when pink “came out” as inspo? Feels sloppy tbh. It makes more sense to me that they opted for the fake because they were about to be two mafia down if pink was exiled there. If they felt their third was well hidden.

Biggest thing hanging me up on Durkle is the no-show when Rummy was to be eliminated in the runoff. Could just be how Durkle usually is or it could be he thought they had it covered and then once the votes went even and Durkle was forced to vote, Dan is a bad choice despite their fighting because it had already been discussed how it should be between Pink and Rummy. Rummy would be the better choice over voting out a teammate. Unless they thought the shade on Dan could be a distraction to get them to go his way. In the remaining day and then they have a decent chance D5.
The other thing that I looked into and actually made a lot of sense is Cum - Pink - Durkle. D2 ends up turning into a shit show and they decide to fake inspector to get Durkle to the finish.
I'm not set on this but I at least want to hear from Durkle again.
