Hi all. I searched but didn’t really see an answer.
Is buying a platinum wristband worth it? Are all the perks that come with it that great? Etc.
This will be my 10th year and I was thinking of treating myself.
i haven't done platinum and never will, but will try and parse it.
1. obligatory "'worth it' is relative"
2. front of stage viewing areas at all stages.
3. golf carts to take you around between all the stages backstage.
4. open bar, free food
but wow it's four thousand dollars. and that doesn't include camping/lodging.
you're not drinking thousands of dollars worth of drink or eating thousands of dollars worth of food. the golf cart transportation would be nice, especially for someone who is mobility limited, but part of the joy of bonnaroo is just walking around and all the wild shit that happens inbetween shows. so to me it's really only about the special viewing areas at all stages. if one had the money, even then it would only be "worth it" if there were a BUNCH of artists you were stoked to get front row seats for. honestly i don't know if there has ever been a bonnaroo with enough artists i'd be super stoked to be front row for.
even if you went VIP instead, that's $3,000 difference. think of everything you can do with $3,000. you could buy so many tickets to other shows, or go on a whole nother dope vacation somewhere.
don't want to discourage you, if you want to treat yourself then do it, but if i dropped that kind of cash, i feel like no matter how much fun the weekend was it wouldn't be fun enough to justify $4,000.

Thanks for the reply. Sure everything is relative. I was just trying to see if anyone had done it and loved it or hated it or didn't think the extra money was needed.
My main interest in it would be the ability to get up to the front of the stage, food, and booze. I do feel like this lineup has a lot that I want to see so it would maybe help give me a little more time to get to shows and still be able to go see them up front.
Ya it is a lot of money haha. I'm a small business owner and have savings but still realize it could go toward other shows or vacations etc.
My crew that I normally camp with are in accessible camping so we are up close already. It seems that would cover what VIP gets you besides a/c bathrooms but that's not really a selling point for me. I do love wondering around so I don't even think I'd use the golf carts.
Tough call. I keep going to the ticket page and getting all the way to the end and then closing out haha.

10th for me, too. I love the idea but find it hard to justify the cost. I've always gone GA and never not had fun, so the added expense seems a little steep when I think about what else I could do with that money. But man, being close for every show and the overall convenience may be priceless.
My travel partner and her kids will definitely not be paying for Platinum, but last year was her first Roo and she's talked a lot about it. And I just put a house on the market, so if it sells quick at or above asking price I might possibly sort of almost be able to convince myself to upgrade the two of us. Can't believe I'm really considering this now but I am, and you are absolutely to blame, thanks.
Another never did it before, but honestly for me the only thing of real value is the golf cart. Like thejeremy loves walking around until his MS gets really bad. We had a hard time ever even catching the ADA carts, but would have used them if we could have. The idea of having a golf cart to take you stage to stage is 100% amazing and a leg saver for someone that has issues with walking. $4000 just for that perk though is a bit insane.

I've done Platinum twice...the last two years and have only done VIP before that....this year going back to VIP. None of the comments above are wrong. Here is how I break it down. 1. UP FRONT AT ALL SHOWS. Never shoulder to shoulder. Plenty of space - comfortable. Cold Beer within an arms reach. 2. With the Golf cart transportation you can see "a lot" of shows. I saw 40 shows in 2022. A few less last year. 3. I'm early 60's and Golf cart transportation helps with energy. We started our day @ Noon to 4 am every day. Platinum is much easier on your entire body... 4. Two meals + Snacks + Drinks + AC Hospitality Tent + AC Bathrooms at Plat, VIP, GA+ tents + Lockers
It's a very different Roo. You see more shows (if you want) but you do miss out on all the happenings walking around Centeroo. You are basically "behind the scenes".
But yeah...it really expensive. Even if you blow it out and spend $1,000 on Drinks, Food in VIP - its still double the price. You can go to another festival with that cash. Hope this helps!!
