Yeah I read she drew a bigger crowd than RHCP at Lolla.
I feel like a douchebag for pulling this random card but I drove by the festival on Lake Shore Drive when they were both playing and I don’t think this was the case.
Still think RTTD is going to a David Guetta-adjacent artist. Somebody who may have headlined 10 years ago but maybe wouldn't today. Late night Saturday slot also just feels like more of a "Lets keep this party going" vibe than "Hey, remember when Lana Del Rey played 7 years ago? Here she is again, still not headlining." Idk
Are people still getting tickets the same week that they add themselves to the waitlist? We're thinking about pulling the trigger early this year.
But David Guetta was never big enough to headline.

misogynist
oh, if I was a misogynist, then how come the women festival at seen before crowd than other that weekend? Their gender

Rapper is the move. Cause you cant just keep doing that with a Guetta or a Kaskade, it gets boring.

Hasn't Lana been drawing bigger crowds than the actual headliners at festivals? I can't see Tyler pulling the biggest crowd at nearly any festival.
It's so wild that people are still underestimating Tyler's trajectory 😔 first it was "Tyler will never be headliner level" I am confident that he would outdraw the likes of RHCP at Coachella in 2024 just like Lana would

No he wouldn't lol. Tyler barely sold out one show at Crypto.com Arena while RHCP sold out Sofi Stadium. They're easily bigger than Tyler, not really a debate there.
Tyler CAN headline Coachella technically but he's not some megastar. He would easily be the smallest of the three headliners and aside from SHM, he's also the smallest of every Coachella headliner post-pandemic. But if he were billed as RTTD instead of on top of his day, nobody would bat an eye at that.
I would love to see Lana Del Rey at Coachella 2024. I don’t care for her billing. In addition, a big win for me if there will be some pleasant surprises or a few great surprises from top to bottom acts at the lineup similar to 1999-2017, for example , something with The Rolling Stones at the top; Talking Heads type of reunion, not Blink-182 lol; poster littered with so many (rare/elusive) indie/IDM/shoegaze giants/gems or Burial type exclusives or rare appearance (like DP in 2006) that made this Coachella. lol *still dreaming, bought the passes already* If it sucks for me, it better have Taylor Swift for tickets resell and so I can also find another old Coachella somewhere in addition to Primavera Sound 2024 lmao. At this point, I should forget about the headliners, consider it a little win if Aphex Twin and Slowdive will be there. Personally, 2017 was the last great Coachella and I am so glad that I went both weekends. However, 2018 was all right and my last one that I also went both weekends. I don’t want to believe what everyone here is predicting for 2024.

Just because you can’t think of it doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. Was literally at an all genre festival Sep 2.
He’s just as relevant as Louis the Child, Madeon, Disclosure, Flume, Porter, Chris Lake + Fisher etc who have been booked in the last 2 years or any of the names I listed in my OP
Beer bet? I'm 100% certain that he would not be booked.
Sure thing. If he’s not booked in one of the next 3 editions then I’ll owe you a beer
“ Did the Beatles song 'Now and Then' lead you to gently weep? You weren't alone”
“ Liam Gallagher, former frontman of the British band Oasis, which unapologetically produced more than a decade of music influenced by the Beatles, posted on X, the social network formerly known as Twitter: “Now n Then (is) absolutely incredible biblical celestial heartbreaking and heartwarming all at the same time,” he wrote in an initial post this morning. “Long live The Beatles.”
“ Tears also flowed among the crowds gathered to listen to the song's release Thursday at the Cavern Club and the Liverpool Beatles Museum, the Daily Mail reported.
"I cried like a baby when I heard it. ... Just gorgeous," BBC Radio 6 Music DJ Lauren Laverne posted on X.”
"Listening now. Shed some tears. But so happy to hear this song. Thank You Beatles!!!!" posted Roy Orbison Jr., the son of the late Roy Orbison, on Ringo Starr's Instagram page.“
"We're all still crying, right?! Tell me it's not only me," posted Mariana Stanley Smith, a researcher of Lennon's life, on X.“

People aren’t underestimating Tyler, they are just being realistic about his popularity. RHCP are a stadium act, Tyler is an arena act. Even on Spotify, a metric that highly favours younger acts, RHCP have more monthly listeners and way more followers.

speaking of Reddit guys confirming things, what do we all think of that guy confirming Taking Back Sunday
I’m not putting much stock into it. I think he has some good inside info, but I don’t know if he has 100% batting average. I think he mentioned Giant Rooks earlier in the year which has been proven wrong since they have a separate LA date when they announced a tour recently. He’s also claiming flipturn who I have some suspicion on because they have DC dates on April 18th and 19th and it feels like a weird touring route to go cross country between weekends. I mean TBT could happen, but I don’t know if I’d bet on it.

Without saying too much, I’ll say that he does have access to some tour dates in advance and this is mostly based off tour routing. That said, it doesn’t necessarily mean Coachella because all dates may not be finalized. As far as Taking Back Sunday goes, I really don’t see Coachella booking them in 2024 so I think that’ll end up being wrong along with several others that I don’t think fit Coachella all that well.
I had this random vision/idea for the way a Taylor Swift headlining show at Coachella 2024 could go down and I figured I'd share it here cause it's offseason why not. There's obviously a lot of doubts about how Taylor playing would look this year given she's in the middle of The Eras Tour and so she a) wouldn't realistically have time to prepare an entirely new show for a Coachella headlining set and b) simply doing Eras Tour @ Coachella would not be culturally 'significant' or live up to the moment since that tour has been all over the country for a year running.
What if she did like a Taylor Swift unplugged show, kinda like how she's done the secret songs on this tour where she plays a combination of hits, deep cuts, etc with just a guitar and a piano. Maybe bring Aaron Dessner and Jack Antonoff on stage and a small band, but no choreo, no crazy spectacle, just Taylor playing her songs herself. The kind of set we should have gotten from Frank Ocean this year.
I feel like this would be a massive hit, would it not? Wouldn't require Taylor to do a ton of extra prep or work while still giving Coachella a completely unique and special moment. People would go wild with all the uncertainty of what she may play and w2 tickets would be INSANE once all the Swifties know for certain it's a unique show and not Eras again (although they'd already be insane regardless lmao)
ESPECIALLY if Dua Lipa is already headlining and bringing a big pop show on Friday, then you get the balance of two women on the bill but playing radically different experiences.
I dunno if Taylor would actually do it, or if people would be let down not having a massive spectacle, but personally I would DIE for a full 2.5 hours Taylor unplugged show specifically for Coachella.
Since suprefan did not ask or he already know if that poster who will die for an unplugged TS Coachella set is a Swiftie or not hehe ... blah blah blah. For me, Coldplay and Taylor Swift without their production spectacles will be like Daft Punk simply just DJing at the DoLab or performing without their pyramid. We told DP to rent our UFO for their next Coachella but they refused repeatedly so I will say this here for the first time, DP will never play again at Coachella. Yes, GV/PT bring back some magical unplugged/acoustics/strip down live shows at the smaller stages/tents… Jose Gonzalez, Damien Rice, Feist, Lykke Li, Sia , Cat Power, Metric, Kate Bush, PJ Harvey could be ready, Süfjan Steven’s once he gets well and ready or the current/next Amy Winehouse I need to discover / see live at Coachella.
