RTTD is still too new to have a distinct pattern. In reality, we have no idea how flexible they will make that slot. SHM only got it because of the backlash of them as a headliner. Calvin pulled a crowd bigger than any of the headliners this year.
One could argue that Coldplay is "bigger" than Taylor in the sense that they have a more diverse (age, gender) fanbase, but Taylor's fanbase is more dedicated. I'd say they're at least on the same level. The Rose Bowl seats way more than Sofi.

And they had ga floor. But the only thing is that Coldplay wasnt selling seats literally behind the stage just to appease the fanbase. And they sell $20 mystery tickets now.

The only thing that I think we know for sure is that they won’t make the biggest headliner RTTD. Neither of the two examples has been the biggest headliner, and it’d be promotional malpractice to hide your biggest act at the bottom of the poster.

SHM got backlash when announced. Calvin was a true sub in 2020. Both went to RTTD spots because they were big enough from a draw/dollar perspective to command it but not large enough to headline a day.
The one thing we know is an act will not willingly go from the iconic large font on a day to the bottom of the poster if they're large enough to headline a day.
I don't know what Rose Bowl vs. Sofi has to do with this lol. This isn't hard.

It was in reference to Coldplay's popularity against Taylor's. Hence Coldplay doing two nights in the Rose Bowl which seats north of 100k. (Yes Taylor did 6 nights at Sofi which is about 70k, which is more, I know how to math lol) But I don't doubt CP could sell out that many nights if they wanted to.
But yes Taylor is absolutely more culturally relevant at the moment with a more dedicated fanbase and would generate the most buzz and attention. Not arguing that at all. I just think Coldplay is in the same ball park of pulling in a crowd. They just do it more quietly. But the numbers are there. I member this time last year, a lot of people were saying Coldplay would be a lackluster booking

Yo! So my cousin's best friends, sister in-law plays Disc golf with the Chainsmokers booking agent. Apparently she said that that the chainsmokers are currently about to drop a album and then headline Coachella this year

There is literally no argument that Colday is bigger than Taylor.

Chris Martin is 6’1, 190 lbs. Taylor is 5’10 128 lbs. so there is an argument
Looking at ticket resale for those LA shows, Coldplay was around $300 to get in the door, Taylor was around $500. Beyonce was about $200, so Coldplay is definitely big, but no one was close to Taylor.
Do people not have an understanding of what RTTD is yet, lol?
I mean, at this point it seems to be a high profile EDM act that has previously performed and could/has headline(d) but will definitely be closing out the main stage at some point during the weekend. Kind of hard to draw any other kind of conclusion when it's just happened twice now.

Taylor was $500 behind the stage. Does that even count. At least for coldplay you could see the stage
