Also I'm just realizing that r/coachella has certainly blocked me from making threads because my "draft" mock last year wreaked havoc on that poor place 😭
Funny I had a version of my mock with Joni subbing for Lana, I’d love for a Sunday morning set as much of a pipe dream that probably is.
Yeah I wanted to have a few fun things at the top. I didnt feel like going 100% "realistic" especially since last year having Jai Paul and boygenius in Mocks wouldn't have been realistic either lol
After this halftime performance, I need to see Dolly Parton on every mock.

It’d be a crime if Coachella got this and Roo didn’t. On that note, I’m kinda shocked that more people aren’t speculating a Dolly/Miley top line over in the Roo headliner thread.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide

Read somewhere that she's only going to do special appearances like this show and award shows from now on, stuff that's less than 10 mins. Sounds like she doesn't have the stamina to do anything close to a full set anymore.

Yeah, I’m joking overall. You could tell she had to hold on to the stage behind her during the performance. I can’t imagine her doing a full set.

I mean she did 13 song sets as recently as August. If I ever put a mock together this year I’ll have her subbing for Taylor (who I don’t actually think will play this year, but think Dolly is just a perfect sub for her). Dolly’s releasing a more rock and roll album, she’s as beloved as anyone, I could totally see it happening.
And I know she’s not touring again, but I think she could definitely do an hour at a festival or two and her comments leave that possibility open IMO.
Dig the idea of John Carpenter filling in the “film composer” spot. His set at Primavera Sound 2016 was badass. But he hasn’t performed in a while and is getting old as fuck.

Stagecoach hass wanted Dolly for years but she just never says yes. They got their white whale when they got Garth so all thats left is Dolly since they sure as shit wont book The Chicks.
Sault announced their first live show…I want to believe they are a possibility.
Yeah between Sault playing in London and Cleo Sol doing a solo show in LA, they are active and mobile now. The time has to be now. We have to be getting Cleo solo at minimum but I hope we get Sault
As realistic as NxWorries is since they still haven't released the new album, from a live show standpoint I'd rather get Anderson + Free Nationals back
