Calvin came back to not headline. So yes, they are. And they went over curfew longer than Calvin before getting turned off and still kept playing cause they gave no fucks.
no clue what you’re trying to say, they def not bigger than Calvin though. Might be lucky to have half as many people in the crowd

They’d have a smaller crowd at Coachella, but they’d sell more tickets at a higher price to a solo show in the LA area than Calvin would. They’re absolutely a headliner if they play, but there’s not really any reason to book them at this point. They’ve already done what they’d do at this festival.

I don't know what to make of this but it seems like Tokischa and Nicki Nicole are listed on the lineup for Calibash on several listings (even official ones) but neither of their names were on the initial lineup drop nor have there been any announcements of them getting added. Maybe the reason is because they're playing Coachella as well? Calibash is AEG btw.
The Cure is still a headlining act, they’re bigger than Tyler, Gorillaz and other subs. I don’t really think Coachella would book them anymore.
are they bigger than Calvin Harris?
I think more people would buy a ticket because of The Cure and they’d be more successful if each did a tour. Calvin is one of the ultimate mild interest acts though so lots of people show up to his sets.
Thoughts on Martin Garrix making a return to the desert. Not the RTTD spot, but on the line up. Is he still relevant? But I could see him in the 2019 Zedd spot on Sunday.

Most acts that play - especially headliners - are either a) touring a new album, b) haven't played before, c) haven't headlined before, or d) are DJ's that will mix up their set. If they're returning, it's to do something new. The Cure haven't released an album since 2008; their set wouldn't be bringing anything new since their '09 set. Maybe if they had a new album or were doing something special like playing Disintegration straight through.

they do have a new album ready and they've already played most of it on the latest tour it just hasn't been released yet. It was supposed to release in October. So they definitely have plenty of new material in the unlikely event they are headlining.

JT definitely feels like he’s on a Coachella trajectory: new music supposedly dropping in Jan, has been doing a couple private shows lately, all his lil friends are active again (*NSYNC, Nelly Furtado, Timbaland). I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if after the Beyoncé bump then his voice dropping out, PT patted him on the back and told him “next album cycle, for sure buddy.”
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide

A JT and Timbaland, or timbaland and friends a La snoop and Dre with all the guests, would be a sick set. Nelly Furtado, Missy Elliot, Jay Z, Ginuwine, etc…

Would people still flock to a Boiler Room stage if it was a bunch of lesser known DJs? Personally I think it would be a great idea if they did this and just omitted the Boiler Room brand. The Yuma bookings have been uninspired the last couple of years with most of the acts I’m actually excited to see playing before 4:00 pm in there at this point. Would love a more obscure electronic stage with minimal production over in the corner where they put DESPACIO.
