That’s what people expect of Coachella now. Book unique headliners that no one else gets or has gotten.
2023 - Bad Bunny, BlackPink, Frank all unique, novel, and or rare
2022 - Harry styles first ever major festival appearance, Kanye first headline experience in 6-8 years
2020 - Rage reunion
2019 - Ariana grande first ever major festival appearance
2018 - Beyoncé first ever majors festival appearance

Besides Beyonce there's nothing special about any of those. Coachella simply can't pull Taylor Swift out of their hat every year. There are limits. When they've reached for "rare" acts lately, it's bitten them in the ass. I'd rather they get good headliners and spend a truck ton on rare, unique undercards.

She didnt get a number one single off future nostalgia so whats the problem. She just ended up with a couple of the most streamed songs ever out of it. On the short list for oscar nods for dance the night away but who cares about that right.

But coming off an era like Future Nostalgia, I feel like her lead single should be doing a bit better. I still think she’s headliner material, but it is interesting that the recent single isn’t hitting in the US.

Agreed, even though I feel like this record might be more fulfilling it might be as commercially successful. If the next single isn’t a major smash it’s gonna be hard to make this era a success. However didn’t it take 4 singles from the debut for New Rules broke?

I think the timing of that album is a big reason it’s hard to top. Those albums that gave me solace in the early parts of the pandemic have definitely become nostalgia for me.
