Okay I'll say it: it's time for a Coachella cum leak, even if its just a dribble. GV can only give us blue balls so many times before someone blows a load so messy that it scrambles the lineup placements.
On the real though, haven't headliners (at the time they played) always been larger arena-szied acts that eventually shot up to stadium-level acts? Kendrick def was not doing stadium acts in 2017, nor was Ariana in 2019, nor LCD Soundsystem ever. Small batch of examples, but I think we're getting mixed up with how big the acts were when they were headlining fests like Coachella as opposed to where they may be now.
Why are my friends texting me about Talking Heads at Coachella?
I relate. All of the thousands of contacts on my phone (which includes some of the most beautiful influences and hottest celebrities in the world) keep blowing me up, and they all have one thing on their mind: they all want the widely beloved band Talking Heads to play Coachella, and they will not attend Coachella unless this demand is met. I mean, I don’t think Paul wants to disappoint Emily Ratajkowski…….

I think this is pretty true, for the most part stadium acts fall into three categories
1: Concert with a extremely good bill - For example RHCP isn't a stadium act but when you add The Strokes, Post Malone and Thundercat as openers they are now a stadium act
2: Old White People Fan Base - Rolling Stones
3: True Stadium level fame - Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Beyonce,
The only true stadium act Coachella has had is Bad Bunny iirc

Gotta come clean, I'm the reason the lineup is being delayed. Every time Paul is about to hit the big red "PUBLISH" button in his office, I switch it out with the font as Comic Sans. We've been going back and forth on this for 8 days. No sleep, no food, no doubt.

GNR, Beyoncé, Gaga, Harry, Bunny, Blackpink. All at least baseball stadium level

Oh lol that makes sense. I assumed stadium = football stadiums 🤓

Dan Gilbert went through the same thing and pressed PUBLISH anyway.
