Okay I'll say it: it's time for a Coachella cum leak, even if its just a dribble. GV can only give us blue balls so many times before someone blows a load so messy that it scrambles the lineup placements.
GoodFellas Killers of the Flower Moon The Age of Innocence Raging Bull Mean Streets Gangs of New York The Wolf of Wall Street Taxi Driver The Irishman After Hours The Departed Silence The Aviator Casino Shutter Island Hugo Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore The King of Comedy The Last Temptation of Christ Bringing Out The Dead Cape Fear Kundan New York New York The Color of Money Who’s That Knocking At My Door? Boxcar Bertha
casino not even in the top 10?!
I admit I am one of those who relegated Casino as a minor retread of Mean Streets and Good Fellas, and I haven’t seen it in close to a decade. Though there’s been a lot of great writing on it recently with it passing its 25 year mark recently on how it’s Scorsese’s first foray in an austere sort of filmmaking — which I think was set on the general tepid response to the movie since folks were expecting another kinetic, cocaine filled rush that was Good Fellas (we got that with Wolf of Wall Street eventually).
There’s a 4k release of Casino so I might pick that up and I expect my recency bias may push it up a bit higher.
(Tbf have only seen a couple sets at Yuma & Gobi while not catching a DoLab set yet)
Sahara has amazing production, but I just can't get into most hip hop and rap acts. Especially the Sahara acts that aren't good enough for Main / Outdoor.

I’ve just gotten lucky the two years I’ve gone to see a lot of hype sets or artists I liked at Sahara. Loved seeing Emo Nite, Brockhampton, Isiah Rashad, Denzel Curry, Kenny Beats, Two Friends, Metro Boomin, and Blink 182 at Sahara while also got to see 100 gecs there even if the crowd wasn’t into them

Anyone that seriously puts Kanye as a rapper over Eminem and Kendrick...lol
Kanye is the most influential rapper ever. 808s and Heartbreaks and Yeezus, generally agreed upon as his 5th and 6th best albums spawned completely new sub genres. Also he’s a hell of a producer. For quality, versatility, and longevity in rap, he’s completely unmatched.
the EDM in the sahara for the last decade+ has been atrocious. move some damn yuma acts into the sahara to change it up or somethin.
I actually LOVE that the good EDM acts are in the Yuma. I know I can stay away from the bros and still enjoy the music.
I will say- last year was my first year back since 2015 and I was SHOCKED by some of the shit I saw happening in the Yuma. Some people got balls is all I can say.
