The most frustrating thing about David Byrne is how little he seems to be motivated by money. You can't just throw a check at him to get the band back together.
No Mercy 2000 is a dynamite show. Angle going over on The Rock was a legit shock to me when it happened.
Watched the Angle doc recently. Never followed him through his TNA phase and that moonsailt off the top of the cage was insane. Also met him once and that dude is built like Stonehenge. He seems a lot shorter than he’s advertised as well.

We aren’t (shouldn’t) rank things - but favorite Mania ?’
Then he got in deep with Brian Eno and Chris and Tina went on to other projects. Eventually Tina accused David of murder, and yeah ... It's a journey.
That's why it was such a big deal that they did that q&a and stuff. There was (is?) A lot of bad blood.
Chris and Tina spent a better part of two decades trash talking Byrne. Chris wrote a book and wasn’t too kind. TLDR is that Byrne is a controlling egomaniac. Byrne recently admitted he was a bit of a jerk and that he could have handled things better. The reunion for the rerelease of the film has been such a joy for long time fans cause they genuinely looked like they buried the hatchet
The sweetest/saddest thing I've ever seen on the fields was David meekly saying "wait, don't leave" after finishing Burning Down The House, so he could play a powerful (updated at the time in 2018) version of Hell You Talmbout

Can you explain why? - sorry man, about to finish the film. Very interested in these guys now

Mine has to be Mania 19.
In the modern era, I think 31 is quite good. 39 was pretty incredible as well.
Of the classic era, I have a soft spot for X. Bret v Owen as an opener was a clinic. The first televised ladder match between Shawn and Razor set such an indelible legacy. And the ending with Owen saying “what about me?” when Yoko finally dropped the belt to Bret is an all timer.

Hell You Is a cover of a Janelle Monae song that is a tribute and a votive to victims of police brutality (of course predominantly black and unarmed). It was very powerful.

David Byrne played solo in 2018, it was the most magical sunset Outdoor set on the fields (and my favourite outdoor set to go back to that convo)
At the end of the set he and his band played Burning Down The House, everyone flipped out and loved it then thought the set was over and began moving to the next thing, and David quietly said "Wait, don't leave" and proceeded to end the set with a cover of Janelle Monae's Hell You Talmbout (a song listing many of the past poc killed in suspect manner). It was powerful and sad how he begged the fair-weather folks who just wanted to hear Talking Heads songs to please stay so he could go off with a message

With the exception of the first record, I’d go so far as to say all LCD cover art is bad. Sound of silver mid at best.
Their merch is not great either. Such cheap material. Their most recent merchandise from their recent NY run is probably the best I’ve seen in over a decade

I loved that set so much
He closed the show I saw on tour with that as well. I don't actually remember the "wait, don't leave," (I was W1, not sure which you saw) but that was the kind of set where me and my friends had to stand around and spend a minute picking our jaws back up off the ground before figuring out what was next.

I didn't even look this time as it's been so bad each time prior. Probably just gonna make my own on a comfort color shirt
