David Byrne played solo in 2018, it was the most magical sunset Outdoor set on the fields (and my favourite outdoor set to go back to that convo)
At the end of the set he and his band played Burning Down The House, everyone flipped out and loved it then thought the set was over and began moving to the next thing, and David quietly said "Wait, don't leave" and proceeded to end the set with a cover of Janelle Monae's Hell You Talmbout (a song listing many of the past poc killed in suspect manner). It was powerful and sad how he begged the fair-weather folks who just wanted to hear Talking Heads songs to please stay so he could go off with a message
I loved that set so much
He closed the show I saw on tour with that as well. I don't actually remember the "wait, don't leave," (I was W1, not sure which you saw) but that was the kind of set where me and my friends had to stand around and spend a minute picking our jaws back up off the ground before figuring out what was next.
W2; that's exactly what I had to do, couldn't move for a couple of minutes

I can’t fucking believe I got to hear Slippery People and This Must Be The Plaxe for the first time live on the same day I saw Beychellla.
I'm camp "it's coming today" mostly because of the waitlist closing with a re-open date of Monday the 15th. that has to mean something imo. would only panic if they re-open the waitlist again
Who here saw Jeff Mangum in 2012 and NMH in 2014? How did the two compare? (I only saw NMH)
Probably the best comparison I can think of to if Talking Heads ended up somehow playing
..Also, where did the Talking Heads talk even come from? I can't remember if there was even a single actual rumor about them. Probably missed it
Jerry Harrison is following Coachella on insta, but not sure when that happened. And it could mean more that he's taking his Remain in Light show there, or possibly nothing at all lol.

I saw both; preferred Jeff though I was actually more of a NMH fan in 2014 than 2012 (I really started to get into them with that solo set). Something about his hermit-y look, alone on stage, a performance that didn't seem possible, it was really something.
I might've preferred the NMH set if it weren't for the Lana fans. 2012's crowd was WAY more respectful. Both were fantastic. I wouldn't be shocked if I preferred the Byrne solo set to a full TH set, considering how astounding Byrne's solo show was.
FWIW I also preferred the Atoms for Peace set in 2010 to any of the Radiohead shows I've seen. Maybe I'm just a solo/side project dude.
At this time, I'd like to thank our wonderful Inforoo mods for allowing us to take part in the forum madness. It really meant a lot when you took us in after the great purge of coachella.com/forum and I am grateful

Okay I'll say it: it's time for a Coachella cum leak, even if its just a dribble. GV can only give us blue balls so many times before someone blows a load so messy that it scrambles the lineup placements.
