Yep, his melodies are immaculate as well. The stuff he's made for other artists, like Kali Uchis, is what got me to love his style of music. Flower Boy has no skips for me as well
I avoided Tyler's music for awhile, because all of the Odd Future fans in my high school were.. not the funnest to be around lol. I just knew he was into shock value stuff in his music videos and was like "eh pass". Fast forward to me being like 20/21? Discovering Kali Uchis for the first time when Por Vida came out, instantly fell in love with the EP. My favorite song was/is Speed, because I thought the bridge on that song was some of the most beautiful sounds I'd ever heard at the time (beat switch + melody), it was so pretty yet so raw at the same time? Anyways, I looked up who produced it because I loved it so much and saw that it was Tyler. I didn't know he made music that sounded like that, so I youtubed him and the first song to pop up was Perfect (because Cherry Bomb era just started), and it happened to be featuring Kali, so I was already excited. Pressed play and, AGAIN, it was this beautiful but raw beat with the prettiest melody, my mind was blown. I was like, now I see why those kids back in high school loved him so much, I'm very late to this party lol. I just assumed all of his stuff was like Yonkers
Your generation are the ones talking about all that stuff when you didnt have to actually experience the insanity of tabloid stuff in the late 90's and early 2000's.
Glad I caught the Ozzfezt Sabbath reunion back in 99 or maybe 02? I think Slayer was on there too. I distinctly remember the abrasive amount of weed in the air during Sweet Leaf.
Sabbath also did 2004, Slayer and Judas Priest played before them. This was back before "severe weather" stoppages. I saw Judas Priest play in a full on downpour and Sabbath played in the post-rain lightning storm. It was perfect.
Currently at Alter Ego doing press stuff. The Black Keys are the first act tonight and the arena is very much not full.

A lot of these radio shows have started putting big acts first to get people there early. I recall KIIS putting BTS first at one of theirs or something.

Okay I'll say it: it's time for a Coachella cum leak, even if its just a dribble. GV can only give us blue balls so many times before someone blows a load so messy that it scrambles the lineup placements.

I think he’s a subpar rapper, but yeah, the production is very solid. Listening to his songs I often wish there were other vocalists/rappers on them instead of Tyler.
