Yeah going back to the beginning of this whole conversation, there’s obviously a lot of steps that would need to happen before Talking Heads performed together again, but them getting together for the TIFF Q&A isn’t *that* extraordinary. IMO what still is weird is David Byrne talking extensively about how he regrets the breakup of the band in People magazine lol.
I'd argue getting them together in the same room in public for the first time in over 20 years is pretty extraordinary.
fair enough, I probably should’ve said “maybe not as meaningful to getting them to do a show together”.
They’re an iconic band with fun songs, don’t think the crowd will be an issue. If some people don’t know them it would take 30 seconds of looking them up to be like “oh yeah this is cool”
Also kind of funny that this article was the first result when I was trying to figure out why you all were talking about them playing Coachella
I'm not optimistic for a reunion, but I don't really think whoever wrote that article for Rolling Stone knows much about their potential touring plans. Plus a lot can change from now to January. Still not betting on it, but would be a dream if it came to be.

For context, in the article the next sentence is “They aren’t booking a reunion tour or a headlining slot at Coachella next year. Instead, they will appear together at a 40th-anniversary screening of Stop Making Sense at the Toronto International Film Festival. Spike Lee will moderate a post-screening Q&A.”

I hope we don't get Rex on the second line like he was supposed to be in 2020.
Was already thinking Teezo, Pinkpantheress, and Ice Spice will be booked. Clipse would be awesome to see. Fuerza Regida, Yachty, d4vd, SPINALL, Balming Tiger would be my other guess from the Flog Gnaw lineup.
I don't see The Hillbillies headlining Coachella off of one project together. Like yeah I know it's Kendrick but Kids See Ghosts didn't do it, they just booked Cudi and Kanye (as Sunday Service) separately.
I DO see Keem being top 4 on his day with a Hillbillies album and a solo album of his own before Coachella
It was funny to look over at eFests after a few days and see that they basically had the same argument that we did. International solidarity in action.

The proliferation of shitty mock posters on Reddit has made the whole fake poster game less fun but I do like that one a lot, B&A. I don't see Mitski getting that kind of billing, but it's very nice on a whole.

I kind of like the shitty mocks. It's a long off season.

Yeah that's definitely the biggest reach on billing, but I know she's worked with David Byrne so I kind of wanted to stick with the "headliner chooses the sub" theme that they did last year.
