I’m really curious how Blur were even booked. Another ‘headliner picking the sub’ or did Paul say fuck it. Or maybe Damon has a stipulation in his contract that a form of his musical outlets must play Coachella every so many years.
I think someone has asked this but I don't remember where or when... how was the walk to and from the Sahara? Was there a bottleneck with the Quasar?
Not at all. Not sure what that dotted line on the map that made the “Sahara Walkway”was supposed to be, but it’s literally just a large field that, in my experience, never even got close to becoming a bottleneck.

There was an interview with them on KROQ and seemed like it was a last minute thing .
They would have had this reaction at any major U.S. festival, and any smaller one like Kilby they wouldn't have gotten paid enough to play
I think they should have gone Kasabian / Jamiroquai with them, though, and had them play a 80-90 minute set closing the Mojave but not sure they would have agreed to that. Framing this as a Coachella issue is silly though and it seems like the media is running with that

That's even more puzzling because if Coachella was scrambling for a subheadliner late in the game Blur were not going to move the needle on ticket sales- drawing a crowd

Does CoS still try to handjob Lollapalooza and continue to incorrectly insist that 2013 was Coachella's worst lineup? I haven't bothered reading them in years for a number of reasons.
Amon Amarth/Cannibal Corpse/Obituary/Frozen Soul 5.25 Bloodbath 6.1 Power Trip 6.6 No Values (maybe) Power Trip 6.9 Death To All 6.27 & 6.28 Slipknot 9.14 Autopsy/Repulsion 9.21 Iron Maiden 10.4 Aftershock 10.10 California Deathfest Carcass/Crypta/Harm's Way/Hatebreed 10.15 Testament/Kreator/Posessed 10.26 David Gilmour 10.30 King Gizzard 11.3 The Blood Brothers 11.8
also Albarn didn't seem like he was actually mad about anything, seemed more of a "taking the piss" kinda thing
no shot that Damon being that bitchy on stage and then says his band will “never play Coachella again” was just taking the piss.
i mean they last played Coachella 11 years ago, and they barely play shows in general and rarely outside of Europe, so saying "you'll never see us again" isn't really much of a threat considering.
i also didn't see where he said Blur will "never play Coachella again", just articles paraphrasing the stage banter

CoS used to handjob Bonnaroo, so switching to Lolla would be a change for them. I've heard from people who know that their anti-Coachella stance came from Alex Young getting denied press access there years ago.
I interpreted the "you'll never see us again" as awkward stage chatter in the moment in response to a dead crowd. It makes for a very clickbaity pull quote but I don't think it was intended to mean much.

If he would have said that comment alone in a vacuum, I would probably agree. The thing is, one song after making the "never play Coachella again" comment, he continues to be weird and give an insanely half assed "thanks...." at the end of Song 2.
Listen, maybe I'm totally wrong here and he really was just being a dick because he thought it was funny. The problem is that it absolutely did not read well to (at least most of) the live audience, and I think was part of the reason they didn't garner more of a crowd as their set went on.
I think this quote has been a little overblown. I do not think Bad Bunny and Frank were in charge of booking Gorillaz and Bjork. I think they were told who the three subs are (well, for whoever it was offered to first) and they got to choose which sub opened for them.
