She’s in that era of pop music that Coachella doesn’t really fuck with. Shakira, Christina Aguilera, Nelly Furtado, Jennifer Lopez etc.
They had JT til Bey got prego and he had lost his voice from touring. And why book Nelly Furtado at Portola if theres little chance she shows up in April. I mean does Pharell get a pass because he had such a vast body of work from that time and the guests were endless?

Pharrell gets a pass because he wasn’t part of the 99/00’s pop era with Happy blowing up nearly a decade later. Pharrell also played Coachella almost 10 years ago so not really the best example here.
Even JT can’t headline anymore. That Man Of The Woods album made him a joke for a while and there seems to be little excitement over anything new coming from him, even if it’s with Timbaland (which, sorry but going back to a producer who helped him make hits from a bygone era of pop music isn’t going to pop off like people think it will in 2023).

Pharrell wasn’t part of the 90s/00s pop era? L O L man produced like 40% of the songs on the radio in that era

No, he’s not considered as one of the pop stars of that era. Production credits or not, his biggest pop fame didn’t come til years later. His peak was arguably Happy which was released in 2013.
Y'all are acting like Neptunes weren't primarily hiphop and r&b in the 90s and early 2000s. Pharrell was massive already, just not in the pop world. And production credits aside, your average person didn't know that he did the likes of Holla Back Girl, but everyone knows he did Drop It Like It's Hot which came out around the same time. He produced on pop songs but he did production AND features AND his own music and was a face in hiphop and r&b

He's in the music video, so still, plenty of people did know. "Superproducers" were highly celebrated at that time. Guys like Scott Storch got RS profiles and I remember there being a Wired cover story about their influence.
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
Pharrell was also coming off one of the biggest years even in terms of making hits, with "Get Lucky," "Blurred Lines" and "Happy" all in 2013.
Timbaland hyping up a new Nelly Furtado/JT song definitely feels like it could lead to either a Nelly Furtado booking with JT/Timbaland mini set, or a Timbaland + Friends set.

Storch became more of a celebrity because he was publicly having a wild dating life with Paris Hilton at the time.

Timbaland is like our current Jack Antonoff phase x100, you can say some songs are good or he’s fine in small doses but also be sick of him being on every pop song of the era. I’m cool with Nelly Furtado because she was incredible underrated in her time, but a full Timbaland showcase sounds like torture.
