I think she just gets a pass bc of her trying to portray a “troll” image. Also it’s pretty rare hip hop artists get held to the same accountability as other genres (ex. Kanye, Chris Brown, Xxxtentacion, etc).
If she was gonna have backlash it would’ve been after the white supremacist chat room stuff but that all seemed to disapppear.

Not true, a lot of Black people do not mess with Doja Cat because of that supremacist stuff and other reasons regarding race.. the bulk of her fan base is not the demographic likely to care about that lol. But she's been that way since before she really blew up, that's pretty much just her personality so yeah her fan base let's it slide. It's like early Tyler with the shock value stuff but he grew out of it

The other stuff just makes her annoying but most artists are annoying lmaooo. And not me or any my other black friends have stopped listening to her for ChatroomGate lmaoo. They either didn’t listen already or they still are. Those blurry screenshots do nothing llol

I think controversies like this come down to whether or not it ruins the image of the person. Lizzo might not recover from her shit because it goes completely against the message she promoted. A reckless country star dropping the N word or Doja Cat saying that crazy stuff? Honestly not too off-brand from how their audience knows them and their behavior. Even Kanye isn't seen as badly now because people know he has a history of saying batshit crazy things and people expect that from him.
Probably helps too that a lot of Doja Cat listeners don't even know about any of that. Hell, there are Morgan Wallen fans who are unaware of him dropping the N word.
I know he's huge and all, but as a Mexican that has lived through the hell that cartels have caused here, he's part of the reason it's this bad, he glorifies drug culture, I don't care if his music is different now, he got famous off of doing songs for El Chapo, he's trash as a singer and person, keep him out of Coachella.

Blink had 2 dates at BMO in June which is the same amount of people as 4 at the Forum. We're only talking about her as a schedule add on which is still in play. I mean imagine if they booked Kanye and they figured he drops again. Might as well get O Rod lol
