I don't see any of the second liners at Flog Gnaw this year being a sub at Coachella next year. If we go off older Flog Gnaw lineups, Lauryn Hill, A$AP Rocky, Lana Del Rey, Kid Cudi, Solange, and Pharrell I suppose could fill it.

Who do we think will sub for Tyler? He's quite the music geek so if they are still doing the thing where HLs pick the sub I can see him picking a pretty unique act

Not really fantasy land if he's vocally said these certain artists are his favorites. If Frank could pull out Bjork, then really a lot of things are possible here. Flog is more niche than Coachella. Not really gonna garner a ton of interest for 80s/90s R&B

really the closest things we have to confirmations are for bar italia, Peso Pluma, NewJeans, and Hatsune Miku. start getting your mom into kpop now but despite our best efforts this festival remains way more unpredictable than we can imagine.

I think I’m wrong here, I thought there was a news story about NewJeans saying they were interested in Coachella with a rumor for Peso Pluma but I got it mixed up, my bad.

Well Zach Bryan teased a collaboration with Bon Iver and they’re also trying to clear out their web store which usually means a new era of merch is coming.
EDIT: I see now the rumors of going on some hiatus for some while. I guess we’ll see.

Yeah Bad Bunny and Frank may have been two of the more difficult negotiations they’ve had for Coachella and it’s possible the whole “choosing your opener” thing may have just been for them to help sweeten the deal. Tyler isn’t nearly as lucrative as those two so there probably isn’t a need to do the same for him.
Also, didn't that partially happen because Frank was opposed to Brent Faiyaz opening for him? If so, I wonder if Brent was possibly pushed to next year instead. It does look like he might have a new project on the way too.

I have a hard time believing that Brent would have been booked as a sub this year? Even for 2024 that seems pretty high, I would love to get him on the line up, but I never pictured him billed top 3 on his day. Maybe 4th or 5th? Just because R&B has dipped in popularity overall recently
