Brent Faiyaz just announced a surprise album dropping tonight. Since he was supposedly going to sub this year I guess that could be in line again for next year. Wasn't sure of his odds of playing next year off an album almost 2 years old come next year but that changes with a new album. Still feels odd to see him as a sub but he does have much higher billing than I expected at other festivals so maybe that's just what he demands.

I was listening to his old stuff last night, crazy. I see him being like 4th on his day. He has his two shows at the YouTube theater that have ridiculous resell prices right now. Why not play a bigger venue =(
Edit: Then again, Janelle Monae just played one night at the Youtube theater and is a former sub 🤔 I guess this year having the likes of Gorillaz and Bjork as subs is setting the bar too high. Traditionally, the subs aren't always a crazy caliber

5 shows at the Forum in March as well as a Palm Springs arena show. Of course she's out lol
...and she already has tour dates set for Sat+Sun of both Coachella weekends. Literally the only way she shows is if they pull an Ariana and book her as a last minute replacement and completely re-route her tour.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide
