Why have we been so fast to assume Queens of the Stone Age will sub this rather than headline?
Overoptimism plus their billing at recent festivals (Aftershock, Louder than Life, RiotFest, etc). Otherwise, it's tough to expect a previous headliner to get demoted to sub.
They subbed for Paramore at BC, or at least were second billing on the top line. I think Shaky could do something similar.
But QOTSA were a sub at BC in 2018 and again in 2023. Within the Shaky universe, QOTSA has already headlined. So them being demoted back to a sub at SK would be unusual I think. Maybe they'd be fine with it from an ego and financial standpoint?
I’d be disappointed with QOTSA as a headliner unless it means a sub or other headliner is bumped up with those savings. Just assuming it would be a yoy savings vs last year based on where they have been playing vs types of venues last years played.

Don't hold me to it, but it looks like they're not repeating very many cities from their previous stretch of tour dates. And they played ATL in July. I think they can stay on the "Maybe" list.
