Thinking we'll get it sooner than last year. The gun stuff / city planning stuff delayed it a little last year, 2021 was a few days delayed iirc because of Astroworld. Kinda weird we have like no leads on HLs yet. QOTSA seems like the only lock and I'd be surprised if they weren't a sub.

Personally, I’d be surprised if they headline. After Shaky sold out last year, I’d have to imagine (or atleast hope) that Tim is gonna keep lineups stacked to keep the festival selling out. This could just be blind optimism though.

I don't think anyone here wants to the see the Foos again in 2024. But they're everywhere, they play lots of festivals including the C3 circuit, and they remain popular despite putting on the same concert for the last 10 years. And they aren't technically ruled out by tour dates so far. Let's not act like SK is above repeating headliners or high subs.

feel like the only short gap was The National (14 and 17) but the festival got a lot bigger in that span

I was thinking specifically about Cage, who was 9th in 2014, 4th in 2017 then 3rd in 2019. Other HL/high sub repeats that I recall: MMJ/Jim James, Strokes, Lumineers, Tame, PoTM, Modest Mouse, Tenacious D, Ryan Adams, Pixies. There may be others. Spoon? Some of it is unavoidable when you have to fill 60 sets a year from a relatively small talent pool. More of an observation than a complaint.

none of this tells me that they’d book Foo’s again after only 2 1/2 years tho

Just like the Killers, Foo Fighters are a pretty easy book and popular enough to draw a crowd regardless how recently they played. It doesn't look like Tim generally books a headliner with this quick of a turnaround but if there was going to be one, Foo Fighters is a good bet.

Agreed. I was just making a guess. I have zero inside info. Here's hoping my guesses are 100% wrong as per usual.
