Still not 100% sold on Kahan playing. It would be a one off kinda bc shaky is in the middle of his month long gap. Happens all the time but not quite “lock” territory.
Historically SK and High Water share very few acts, which is surprising. I guess if you're crafting a tour schedule, having 2 weeks between Charleston and ATL dates is a logistical problem?
Since I did acts that haven’t played Shaky before. Now I just want to know out of all the headliners that have played before, Which one would you like back the most? If you want you can rank them from your favor to least throughout the years. I also excluded acts that I don’t think would headline anymore like Modest Mouse, Wilco, The XX, Incubus and Phoenix. And left off the three that just headlined last year.
The National The Strokes My Morning Jacket Florence & The Machine Jane’s Addiction LCD Soundsystem Jack White QOTSA Beck Cage The Elephant Tame Impala Foo Fighters Run The Jewels Green Day Nine Inch Nails
I think the xx would absolutely be a headliner if they got back together
yeah it’s def possible. I just see them in a Hozier preheadliner type spot is all. It’s like QoTSA, could come back as a headliner or could be a great preheadliner.

Lots of good 20th and 30th album anniversary options for 2024. Seems to be a touring trend in recent years. Ignoring those who played in the past few years.
1994: Oasis - Def maybe (ha), REM - Monster (ha), Kyuss - Sky Valley (prob not), PJ - Vitalogy (not really their thing, but still a possible HL), Beck - Mellow Gold (maybe), Bush - Sixteen stone (maybe), Weezer - Blue album (probably), Veruca Salt, Blur
2004: U2 (nope), Franz Ferdinand (maybe), Arcade Fire - Funeral (still cancelled I think), MCR (prob not), TV on the Radio (still a band?), Wilco (maybe), Iron & Wine (maybe), Animal Collective, Sufjan, DFA79
Looking back at this also made me a bit sad about all the great artists we've lost. 1994, what a year for music.
Liam Gallagher is doing a Definitely Maybe tour though
I saw someone in a Shaky Knees t shirt today at a festival we went to Adelaide. I really wanted to talk to the guy and ask him where he was from or how he ended up at that festival. Def not one I expected people to know of down here, let alone have attended. Was pretty cool to see in the wild tho.
This might be an L opinion or a pick me mindset but Lana Del Ray doesn't belong at Shaky Knees
From a music style standpoint, I agree. Her style doesn’t quite fit Shaky’s vibe, especially as a headliner. She’d be a huge draw though, and would absolutely sell tickets. Either way, I can’t imagine Tim would book her.

She has overlap with Father John Misty, Phoebe Bridgers, Stevie Nicks, The Lumineers, The xx, Japanese Breakfast, Florence + the Machine, etc. It’s weird to me how people think that Blink-182 is an appropriate fit after one pop-punk act, Green Day, gets booked, but Lana’s potential is dismissed when there have been several high profile acts with fan overlap booked at Shaky Knees.
Also, she was supposed to play Hangout Fest on the gulf coast a few years ago but didn’t due to the pandemic. If she gets rebooked for that, it would put her in the southeast during May around the time of Shaky Knees.
Why do people think Blur is a possibility specifically for this?
My friend works at a venue in Mississippi. Nothing is confirmed, but they’re looking into booking Blur next year. They’re trying to get PJ Harvey, QOTSA, and The Smile.
