Everyone that’s doing Pigsx7 into Pond should go to Wine Lips in between. My Ex saw them open for Frankie and the Witch Fingers and said they were awesome. Will make for another Trippy act in that run for that day.

and after Pond, PPC is a no brainer
yeah Pond into PPC is gonna be mind melting. The run of Pigsx7 > Wine Lips > Pond > PPC is just unreal to start the day off.

Maybe getting something to eat first/TBA -> Linka Moja -> Ax and the Hatchmen -> Kid Kapichi -> Pigs x7 -> Wine Lips -> Pond -> PPC -> All Them Witches -> Interpol -> Arcade Fire -> Noah Kahan -> Potential Night Show
Going to be one of the best days of my life right there tbh. Three of my favorite bands and way, way more.
Well I just figured out how to fix one of our conflicts. Wife wants to see Metric and I want to see Pond. Pond is playing at a small-ish club venue in Nashville Wed night for a whopping $25 and we don't head to Atlanta until Thursday... problem solved.

Hoping for a decent after show Sunday. Nothing I’m interested in after Billy Idol. Other than the previously mentioned Pond & Metric conflict this stacks up perfect for me.

They don’t do late shows on Sun.
Thanks for the heads up. That sucks, I guess I’ll lkick back and watch the foo’s for a bit from afar.

some acts that do play Sunday might have a late night show tho if you have any conflicts. But they will do a late night show either Saturday night or Friday. But yeah no aftershows on Sundays.

Wouldn’t mind doing a late show Friday night. Wonder what the chances are of Arcade Fire doing a Funeral set after show.

Alright so any guesses on the last TBA slot on Friday? I mean, it's probably going to be some band almost nobody here has heard about but I'm hoping for Mdou Moctar or Jeff Rosenstock lol.

found out i might be in Atlanta for work May 5-8... if so, i'm definitely coming out for the weekend prior. just need to decide about doing a single day at the fest and some aftershows versus a full festival weekend. leaning toward doing the fest on friday and an aftershow saturday.
when do aftershows usually get announced, like 6 weeks out? so we should expect something late March..? hoping for one of Royal Blood, Matt and Kim, Miike Snow, Pool Kids, (or an AF Funeral set.)

I was able to find a place a block and a half away for 85 a night. The more I look at the schedule, the more conflicts I’m finding. Really excited about this thing now though. Sorry if someone’s already asked but does anyone have any bar or food recommendations?

Is it a tent?
It looks like an apartment owned by an aging hipster. The price was a lot nicer than the spot across the street south of the park. Was surprised how many spots were still available close to the park.

Restaurants in the relative vicinity (not an exhaustive list): El Tesoro (expect a long line, not super close to Central Park, but the food and drinks are phenomenal), Papi's (Cuban food), and Ponce City Market (isn't too far and has a lot of good food and drink options - Botiwala would be my top choice).
Bars: The Local, Bookhouse Pub, Cypress Street Pint and Plate, and then there's a lot of options in and around Little Five Points like Manuel's Tavern and Wrecking Bar.
Atlanta is really bad about public transit so some of these places will require a ride of some sort, but all within a few miles.

This is random but I’m at work listening to my shakey knees playlist and realizing we got a slight stay with me/won’t back down situation going with Young The Giant’s Cough Syrup and Prince’s Darling Nikki
Saw a FB comment where someone mentioned this would be last year at Central Park due to development where Ponce stage sits. I doubt anyone here can comment on the last year part but anyone aware of the development part? If true then hopefully worst case it just means going back to the tent.
The fest has been pretty crowded in recent years. I can't imagine 4 stages in a significantly smaller overall space, unless they do a side-by-side alternating stage situation. Or sell fewer tickets. The Civic Center property was also the workaround for the gun law situation, so Central Park is probably not going to be a viable festival site moving forward. Unfortunate.

Map looks like it would cover where the tent is too. I’m a bit concerned this would make them subject to the gun laws again as well but looks like MM is able to circumvent it? Not sure what their plan would be. Maybe Centennial again?

Just saw something the other day that Centennial isn’t going to host any more big events. I think they’d have to move to Piedmont Park.

I saw an article the other day saying centennial said no more festivals

rough If they can make Piedmont work, that’d be sick but probably too big
Yeah maybe alternating stage would work. It would just suck for density at that stage since people wouldn’t be as spread out anymore.
Hopefully whatever they do is a solution that still works walkable from Marta. It’s just a much better draw as it is for us as out of towners to be able to park the car and not worry about driving at all until it’s time to head back home.
Either way, looking forward to having a blast this upcoming May.

there’s not really any options that aren’t good for Marta unless they move it totally out of the city
