I was just realizing that ANOHNI didn't make the cut! That's kinda surprising.
Sad but understandable. I wouldn’t doubt they asked, honestly. At this point in her career, she holds the cards. I think she only played one or two dates this year before the album dropped.

I'm sure the New Agey woodwind thing will be cool, but the footage of that Coltrane tribute set I saw on Instagram was electric.. can't help but be jealous honestly.
Guessing it'll be similar in sound to the solo album he dropped last year

I’ll go back and listen to the solo album again. I wasn’t blown away by it the first time around but that could change.

We should be getting a lot of schedule and venue info soon as artist pages begin to populate the dates they're playing. Spot checked a few this afternoon and the only one I found was Kronos Quartet 2 PM Saturday at Knoxville Civic, but surely lots more coming soon.

I don't feel like there's a ton of untapped spaces in that part of town unless they use something that truly isn't an events venue at all? Interior of Southern Railway is way too small. Wouldn't be the first time a show like this is held at Mill and Mine, they did Gavin Bryars and Johann Johannsson there in 2017.

Sunday is usually pretty light attendance wise but I agree that it could easily go in the Mill and Mine.
Google clocks the Tennessee at 1.6k while the Mill and Mine at 1.2k (but they maybe including the outdoor space). I could definitely see her at both but they tend to do the more rock oriented/adjacent at the club.
That said, I could have sworn there was another name before hers on Thursday, so you’re probably right.

Terry Allen was Tennessee last year right before Mountain Goats at Mill, and she feels like a decent comparison to both of those acts lol... guess it's possible they have Charles Lloyd in the Tennessee instead

Well... I'm still disappointed to miss Big Ears this year, but I managed to pick up tickets for the first 6 albums/nights of the Los Angeles Kraftwerk residency! Anyone else going?

You'll be missed, but that is a GREAT use of a week in LA! I had tickets to see them in Columbus in 2020 and it never got rescheduled
