oof, as usual for Prima, some fantastic bookings, but does seem lacking based off what we've come to expect from them. really feels like Coachella 2013 to me, which is not a bad thing at all.
Feels fairly underwhelming (though I enjoy the vast majority of acts) but have a feeling by February it will feel by far the best lineup again
Could be a tough year with inflation, etc.
I think that after seeing all the other lineups around it will be the best one. Mad Cool I heard rumours that they are going for Dua Lipa, Billie Eilish, Pearl Jam and Foo Fighters plus tons of electronic music for the first time. Still not my type of a festival so I pass. I’m pretty sure by March there won’t be a better lineup than Primavera (at least in Europe). But again, this is one of the worst lineups from Primavera in years.

Probably no Kacey Musgraves or Taylor Swift because they’re just country stars, not pop stars and they can play at some country music festivals here in the U.S.
Even though only 1 out of my Top 11 challenge to PS 2024 made it, I am so ready for it. And I would like to endlessly thank all indie music gods for this all-out back to just like heaven, an indie musical paradise. It’s your turn, Coachella. I was more worried about the inclusions of the undesirables (chill out vibes killers) at the top lines that I don’t want to see there.
Thanks to bojangles too for that brilliant list of acts that I initially overlooked as I am too focus (with my indie loves/wishes) and stunned being there or that PS actually did it.
I was too harsh at PS 2023 lineup that I forgot that the headliners-worthy late adds of New Order and Alison Goldfrapp almost made me do it again.
PS, naaaaah, we don’t need an Air + Aphex Twin + ? late adds as there are way too many conflicts be damned must sees for me already. lol

Thank you, Primavera Sound. Now my life is sweet like cinnamon like a fuckin’ dream I’m livin in … the only time I will be wishing eating churros with cinnamon-sugar coating there lol
LDR <3
Vampire Weekend PJ Harvey Beth Gibbons Pulp Arca
are my top 5 though.
LDR is up there at my Top 10 and also among in my very long list of conflicts be damned must sees.

I’m actually fine with the names up top, I think it’s lack of tier 2 names that’s a little disappointing for me, and with the exception of a few like Arca, Gibbons, and Charli, tier 2 looks more like 3, and 3 definitely looks like it should be a 4.
A sprinkling of like 5 of Chems, Air, Underworld, Robyn, The Smile, Grimes, Fever Ray, King Krule, Floating Points, IDLES, Slowdive, Fontaines D.C., Anohni, SAULT in tier 2 would complete this for me.
I owe Jeremy Fragrance a beer. Still don’t understand wtf is going with T Swift playing just one Madrid show and skipping Barca, but it’s clearly not prima.
Believe thomasmars owes me one, I think Mitski qualifies as a headliner? Hard to say without the day splits.
I think you owe us all a beer for thinking Taylor Swift would play Primavera.
Must see: Pulp, twigs, PJ, Justice, Beth Gibbons, Clipse, Arab Strap, Hannah Diamond, Mandy Indiana, Mannequin Pussy
Would like to see: SZA, Mitski if she mixes up the setlists more, The National, Phoenix, Arca, Bikini Kill, Charli XCX, Peggy Gou, Freddie Gibbs & Madlib, Romy, AG Cook, Amaarae, The Armed, Blonde Redhead, Chelsea Wolfe, ElMato a un Policia Motorizado, Lambchop, Liberato, Mount Kimbie, Sega Bodega, Shabaka, Sofia Kourtesis, William Basinski, American Football, Duster, Eartheater, Gel, Julie Byrne, Model/Actriz, Pelada, Roc Marciano, Scowl, Sophia Chablau e Uma Enorme Perda de Tempo, Wiegedood, Wolf Eyes
Will hopefully be able to stop by at least for a bit to douchily raise the Chicago flag high and proud: Blessed Madonna, Ratboys, Slow Pulp
I didn’t do any counting but someone in Reddit said, “Given the number of acts announced (150), it’s almost a certainty.” (That more acts will be released/announced/added later)
“Last year, more than 200 acts ended up on the bill.”
They are either really on tight budget for that huge difference or waiting for Coachella’s and Glastonbury’s reveals before PS drops the 1/4 remaining acts lol. I will have to change my criteria for my conflicts be damned must sees list where they have to be in my bucket list, god-tier rare live act that I have never seen before.

the last couple years they’ve dropped the Ciutat lineup with the main lineup, but they’ve held that back this year. That’s the majority of the names, but we’re definitely getting a handful of names later on, at most 1 more headline level name and padding out the undercard.
Boiler Room and Warehouse are yet to be announced aswell, I'm sure. Ciutat aswell. Only thing we know is Day 0 w/ Phoenix and Brunch w/ The Blessed Madonna. DJ's are probably all set to play on Dice. Though some, like Nazar feel WH-names to me.

i don't think they put the boiler room artists on the main lineup, and we definitely have some warehouse names already. I think there will be a decent chunk of additions with the ciutat lineup announcement, and we'll also see a few of the main lineup names also get added to ciutat
that's great! I noticed there was a lot of Hyperdub on the lineup but a showcase is pretty special. That also brings some intriguing late add/Ciutat possibilities, like Jessy Lanza and Lee Gamble.
this would make a great Ciutat event. I never made it to The Warehouse if that was even a thing in 2022, could someone give me an idea of what that’s like?

It's located in the parking lot right underneath the sun panel structure. It was my go to spot when Boiler Room was to full and wanted to see some electronics. It's an epic little spot on the grounds.
One weekend pass for sale. Face value & transfer through access ticket. Happy to share socials and phone number to chat if you want.
I've been to Prima twice now and there's just not much I haven't seen on the lineup over the years of going to festivals. It's going to be a great time but nothing is pulling me to travel from Utah to BCN this year.

Any expectations for Beth Gibbons's set? Not sure if she'd do the symphony like the 2019 album at Prima, but the Auditori could accommodate such a thing. Or does she have new stuff coming?

I was wondering the same thing. Could definitely see her in the Auditorium. Any chance she does any Portishead? She's high on my list either way.
