Want to sees: Lana Del Ray, Pulp, Justice, Mitski, PJ Harvey, Clipse, Deftones, Peggy Gou, Troye Sivan, Ethel Cain, Romy, Blonde Redhead, Mount Kimbie, Nala Sinephro, Obongjayar, Sega Bodega, Shabaka, Crumb, Duster, Eartheater, Mandy Indiana, Model/Actriz, Slow Pulp, Tim Reaper, Water From Your Eyes
Agreed. Bummed that Gel, Scowl, and Wiegedood are off the table for me but still thinking I made the right call.
knew there weas a couple names that I wouldn't know. Thx
Gel and Scowl are hardcore bands but oh so much fun.
Wiegedood will be up your alley though for sure. It's a "members of" sort of thing with one of the guys from Oathbreaker and another from Amenra playing black metal with another dude.
DJ Babatr DJ Python (b2b with someone) Yazzus Aho Ssan (x KMRU) Loraine James Motor City Drum Ensemble Helena Hauff Tim Hecker (in Auditori) Ben Frost (in Auditori) Rachika Nayar (in Auditori) Yousuke Yukimatsu Blawan Claire Rousay + Martyna Basta (in Auditori) Hulubalung Lee Gamble Elvin Brandhi
Fantastic lineup in a vacuum, and yet feels lacking compared to past Primavera lineups.
This. It’ll beat any American festival but Primavera is in a world of its own. I thought after dropping Madrid, they would go even bigger this year to focus all their funds.

Or did they lose so much money bc of Madrid that they had to downsize Barcelona a little bit.
I think 2022 just really spoiled everyone. I don’t think it’s that far off in terms of size/quality from when I went in 2019.
Yeah they went really big with headliners in 2022 and last year, but in the past it really wasn't the norm outside of like in 2016 when they nabbed Radiohead but even then Sigur Ros still headlined one of the nights and I think they are smaller than any of top 3 headliners this year.

i think having national phoenix and vamp weekend as headlines feels very just like heaven to me. and i like all those bands especially phoenix. would’ve hoped for someone broader or a bigger name like blur/new order from last year. or more rare like aphex twin. i would still love to go and sure it will be a great time though.

Yeah and to be clear I don’t bemoan anyone for not going/not being excited about it, there are a lot of standard top line indie festival acts there lol
This year I liked The Coachella lineup more than Primavera's which is why I went for the first time since 2016. Will be interesting to see how they compare in January.
stacked! so excited for this. It's going to a blast wandering around. some gems that I haven't been mentioned: Herrensauna - pulverizing berlin techno. I've been listening to this mix (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJ7lbqyLbX8) by SPFDJ a lot the past few weeks coincidentally, so I'm really excited about this one. Kode9 - Founder of Hyperdub. Wolf Eyes - Noise music legends Sandwell District - Underground techno supergroup featuring Regis, Function, Female, Silent Servant. Lanark Artefax - Left-field electronic. Tratratrax - Colombian electronic label that is killing it. DJ Playero - Long time reggaeton DJ from Puerto Rico

yeah I wish I liked this more since my friends seem to like it a lot. i get that 2022 was a bit of an outlier in terms of top end size, but as someone who likes but isn't in love with LDR / SZA, this definitely feels like it could have done more.

The core of Primavera is the small font names. I actually kinda like how I can see myself skipping a lot of the Mordor acts. More time to just bounce back and forth between small stages with rare/unique acts.
