Anyone who complains the Democrats "put forward uninspiring candidates" has likely never voted in a Democratic primary.
Untrue
I passed my NDA issue unless I said the candidate. But Long Island - Pro-police and anti-taxation. I literally have missed one primary because I was disenfranchised and didn't feel ok in my Blue State to vote.
Does anyone going have day jobs? Cause I def have a day job.
i stopped going to local club shows altogether because of this. even on weekends. i'll just wait until the act is big enough to play the local theater, where they'll come on no later than 9pm.
for some reason if i go out of town for a show i don't have a problem with later start times. i think when it's local i just know my house is like right there you know? i could be just relaxing at home.

Me at home: "If I haven't left the house by 8PM, I'm not leaving the house." (a real thing that I say frequently)
Me in New Orleans: "Some guy named Harold Lambeaux or something at the Blue Nile at 1AM? Let's goooooooooooooo!!!!"

i feel like when i was a kid i could go into almost any restaurant and get spaghetti. like it wouldn't have to be an italian restaurant, they had spaghetti at like Shoneys. wish spaghetti availability was still widespread.

And there wasn't a goddamn chicken finger to be found anywhere! Spaghetti has been shut down by the Big Finger lobby.

Unless I remember to take Imodium or a lot of lactaid, spaghetti is the only thing I ever order anymore from Italian restaurants. Everything else has cheese and my lame ass stomach can’t hang anymore

this is so true. having said that i see now i was a part of the problem. when i had my first applebees chicken finger basket with honey mustard it was a transcendent experience.

Ha. Funny you say that. As I was typing my previous comment, I actually thought, “Come to think of it, I think the first time I ever heard of chicken fingers was when I started working at Applebee’s in 1997.”

a younger person i work with told me a story about her younger sister. every morning the younger sister goes to starbucks to get a drink, a breakfast sandwich, and a danish. one morning she went and ordered the drink the breakfast sandwich and the danish but they forgot to give her the danish. she didn't realize until she got home, instead of just charging it to the game, or going back to starbucks to get the danish she already paid for, she bought another danish through postmates and had it delivered.
this story is an exceptional case of waste and laziness, obviously, but when i get in conversation with twenty-somethings at more work i'm surprised at how frequently they use food delivery services. these are mostly childless people in an easily drivable city without a lot of traffic.
EDIT: i realize i might have already done the "young people order too much food delivery" thing in this thread, if i did forgive me i'm old and forgetful.
I haven’t been to a live show at night since becoming a dad, but like how do you even do it? Pay a babysitter for like 4-5 hours? Expensive show geez
when my kids were younger my wife and i would just leave functions/parties/outings because we weren't having $15/hour worth of fun and had beer in the fridge at home.
now i live near my parents so I'll get them to babysit just to play video games by myself.

i feel like this is the story of the modern internet in one image.
I use UberEats on rare occasions when I'm taking care of my son alone and he's asleep. That's it. And even that makes me feel guilty. I cannot fathom why someone who undoubtedly makes shitty money would pay double for fast food because they don't want to leave their house.
My only explanation is maybe they're all too high to drive.
Because as a former pot head, kids these days smoke too much weed.
