As a Dua fan, her and her team made the right call on passing on Coachella and focucing on Glasto. So far nothing about this is bad: she sounds okay, the choreo is there, the lights+production are fine. But there's nothing that feels special about this...? No narrative, no stunning vocals, no compelling visuals. I don't need her to roll around in a mudpit like Doja but this would feel lackluster at Coachella when even undercard acts are putting in a ton more effort.
Can someone ask the old lady from Egypt what she thinks of Lana Del Rey headlining Coachella so we can know whether the festival has redeemed its reputation as a laughingstock worldwide

I LOVE Dua but I agree it doesn't feel SPECIAL, and also some of this choreography is recycled from the FN tour. Although I did think her vocals on Falling Forever were impressive.
It's not bad! Totally serviceable as a headliner, I just expected something a little more special. We will see how she wraps it up. It's clear she's been working really hard though, especially at her choreo.

Its the same. The Kevin Parker guest was it as a setlist change.
I think Coachella was out of the running for a while because Dua said in an interview last week that she was booked for this back in Nov 2022. So there wasnt going to be anything before festival wise. This set is doing exactly what its supposed to and I dont think anyone wouldve been upset at a 90 min dance party on Coachella stage with maybe a couple guests. I think demanding too much is the issue sometimes and the audience wouldve loved to have some mindless fun. It was clear last year with OMG TBA and even Calvin Harris that you want to end your night on a positive note.
so excited to see them at OSL. i thought ppl here were just memeing
Having been a day 1 Con Man stan its amazing seeing them just finally break out anywhere. Now for the u.s. Theyre a great festival act.
Edit: my god the reaction to Dua is hilarious. Apparently the show being just for the cameras is blasphemy. And that she thinks this is Coachella. I dont know how to break it to people hut the BBC has been broadcasting the festival since the mid 90's. Its been a tv program for 30 years. Its for entertainment. We arent expecting a thinkpiece.

That's fair, I definitely think my expectations were probably too high, but I based them on how much she's talked about manifesting this moment. It was definitely good, a solid headlining set that I would be happy to see because I love Dua. I wish she would play Whatcha Doing off RO though. Where are you seeing these reactions?

Twitter and the sub. So pretty much the internet cesspools. The old men literally wanna tear down all the women cause they couldnt get Oasis. I fully expect tomorrow night to be a 180 from those people when its Chris Martin hamming it up. And then theyll be back at it with Sza and we'll get the racisim thrown in there too.
I hope Emily Eavis gets her 3 female headliners so she can tell em all to fuck right off. ( she did say in an interview she expects it either next year or in 2026 ) sunmed up nicely

Yesterday was pretty nice. Dua was awesome. It’s not an S tier show but still very good, great backing band, new songs really fill in the setlist nicely. 9/10. LCD was solid, played some deeper cuts and a little slower set. Thought Conman was fun but still not as sold on them as a bunch of y’all. Her vocal track was really high in the mix, and I tend to not mind that but really just felt like they were up their dancing to their songs. Similarly thought the Sofia Kourtesis live show was a bit of a work in progress, but listening to her music at 11am with a coder was nice. Romy DJ Set good.
Crowd crushes have been a problem this weekend. They’ve had to shut off shows and whole areas of the park both nights so far. Charli and Bicep were particularly messy apparently. Glad they’re dealing with it proactively but I got caught out both nights waiting to get into closed areas which is a bit of a drag.
I saw an article from The Mirror already about the set saying "I bet the BBC is going to be shocked and mad about this one!!!" like guys I hate to say it but I'm pretty sure the BBC already anticipated the deliberately provocative band was going to be deliberately provocative.
Glasto Free Press interview with Emily Eavis says 2026 is a fallow year. And based on the Isle of Wight 2025 dates you will have Glasto at the end of June again. So June 25 -29.
