imo thats really the true championship. The best rock album of that decade vs the best hip hop album of all time.
As long as either one of those beat OK Computer id be happy tho
both The Chronic and All Eyez On Me are better hip-hop albums than Illmatic IMO.
Ill say that without The Chronic, we wouldn't have a lot of amazing albums today. I think its the most influential of its time. Personally never been a big fan of All Eyez on Me

cool cool. i find it interesting you aren't a fan of All Eyez On Me, since you are one of inforoo's resident youths. I feel like 2Pac's legacy hasn't held up as well as other huge musicians from his time. At the time it felt like he was bigger than Biggie, Pac just had such a massive personality, when he was on screen you couldn't take your eyes off of him (lol no pun intended, honestly).
i think ultimately Biggie was the most talented, arguably the greatest MC of all time, but Pac was like the Muhammed Ali of hip-hop, he knew how to get attention and sell it. But he had the bangers to back it up.

My dad is a old head so I pretty much only grew up on either Chicago and East Coast hiphop from 80-90s. He was kind of a Tupac hater and said he was too poppy, so bc of that I never really got into him aside from his movies which are pretty great.
I personally think Tupac is solid. It's really hard to judge someone like him and others that died super young but I don't really think theres a good argument when people say Tupac is the GOAT. Same goes with Jimi x Kurt x Biggie x Juice.
Growing up though Biggie, KRS One, Slick Rick were my favs. Now a days I truly think Kendrick is the GOAT
