The Setup
postjack has been given the opportunity to curate the initial lineup for a festival in competition with no one. Any artist can be selected regardless of mortality or activity. If an act or artist played at least two live public shows of six or more songs then they are eligible. The top fifty artists on each lineup will be locked into non-compete clauses preventing them from nothing. When the top fifty is complete, postjack can add up to an additional seventy-five undrafted free agents (UDFA) to his lineup. postjack will not add free agents. postjack will be the winner.
Rules
1) Once an artist or member of an act is drafted they are unavailable for postjack to draft again however side-projects and solo artists from that act would still be eligible until separately drafted as long as their typical set contains no more than six songs by a previously drafted performer.
2) A maximum of two superjams are allowed (but not required) without taking up a draft/free agent slot. Any additional superjams will require the use of a slot.
3) Disputes handled via poll. Upon confirming receipt of dispute request, a poll will be put up and run for twelve hours. Polls can run seven days a week but no poll will start before 9AM or after 9PM Eastern. Drafting will continue while the poll is running. If a poll is a tie, the thing being disputed stands.
4) Once we have postjack, draft order will be randomly generated for the first round and will continue as a snake draft. I.e., postjack with the last pick in the first round would have the first pick in the second round. Since postjack is the only participant in the draft, the draft order will be postjack then postjack then postjack etc.
5) postjack will have a maximum of twelve hours for his pick in the first ten rounds. That decreases to eight hours beginning in round eleven and six hours beginning in round twenty-five. If postjack misses his pick, the draft will continue as if a pick was made and postjack can then select from any remaining acts at the time that he registers his pick. If postjack is still on the clock from a previous turn because his time expired without making a selection, then when his next turn comes around the twelve (or eight or six) hour wait for his turn is waived. postjack can make up a maximum of two picks - if he falls behind by more than two picks the additional picks are forfeit. this won't happen because postjack is the only participant of this draft and thus will never fall behind.
6) When postjack posts his selection, he will identify who the pick is. (Do not assume that everybody else can recognize postjack's pick from pic or gif - formatting issues sometimes make them unreadable.) In addition, he will tag postjack and the person going after him (postjack) to keep things moving.
7) Trades are allowed. postjack must verify the terms of the trade. (Note: Trades are subject to dispute. In the event that a trade is believed to be unrealistically lopsided, postjack can call for a poll on the validity of said trade.)
8) Fifty rounds of drafting.
9) Any rule changes prior to the start of the draft will be decided by postjack and updated in the OP.
10) Any rule changes after the start of the draft will require postjack vote in favor prior to adoption.
11) A rule change cannot be instituted to change the process of changing rules or disputes. (E.g., no vote to assign a "ref.")
12) If an artist performs both solo and with a set band, then when one is drafted all iterations are off the table. For example, if Prince is drafted then Prince and the Revolution is off the table. However if Neil Young is drafted then Neil Young & Crazy Horse is off the table but not Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
13) If an act has multiple lineup configurations, the one drafted should be identified when drafted. Other configurations would then be off the table. For example, if you were selecting Van Halen then you verified that you were choosing the iteration with Gary Cherone, the David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar VH's would be off the table.
14) In the event that postjack is unable or unwilling to complete the draft, nothing will happen.
15) If postjack appears to be acting to the detriment of the draft, postjack is able to request postjack's removal. Removal will require postjack vote in favor. The vote is public. nothing would happen to postjack's drafted artists.
16) If postjack may not be able to make his pick, he may select a proxy or proxies to select on his behalf. Proxies must be stated in thread.
17) The winner of the draft will be decided by poll which will run for one year. postjack will be the winner.
Hey just a heads up! Something I learned in the other draft thread: if you put b2b between any 2 artists, they have to play butt to butt. Hope that's helpful with this undertaking. Have a blessed weekend!!
