EDIT: Changed from 30 rounds to 15 rounds
EDIT2: Changed from 15 rounds to 10 rounds
The Setup
You have been given the opportunity to curate the initial lineup for a conference in competition with nineteen others. Any celebrity currently alive who is 80 years young or older can be can be selected regardless of activity. Celebrity is defined as "a famous person".
At the conference your picks may be interviewed, give a talk, or participate on a panel. They won't be doing whatever their actual art is if they are an artist. No actors acting, no musicians musicianing, etc. Basically the idea is to come up with a list of cool or interesting old celebrities.
Rules
1) Once an old person is drafted they are unavailable to anyone else.
2) Disputes will be handled by me or by poll. I'm guessing the only thing in dispute would be the definition of "celebrity" or a "famous person". So don't pick your grandparents unless they are famous.
3) If an old person is drafted and dies during the draft, they are removed from your lineup and you cannot repick. You will have an "In Memoriam" video at your conference instead.
4) Once we have twentyten participants (or if we max out on interest before we get twentyten), draft order will be randomly generated for the first round and will continue as a snake draft. (i.e., the person with the last pick in the first round would have the first pick in the second round.)
5) Drafters have two hours to make picks between 9AM and 9PM Eastern. Any pick that starts after 9PM and before 8:59AM has until 11AM. Drafters can kind of take as long as they want to draft, really. But you might get skipped if I feel like its been too long. This isn't fair but that's OK because this is a game and doesn't matter. If a participant misses their pick, the draft will continue as if a pick was made and the participant can then select from any remaining acts at the time that they register their pick. No set "catch up" time or penalties or anything.
6) When you post your selection, identify who the pick is. Do not assume that everybody else can recognize your pick from pic or gif - formatting issues sometimes make them unreadable. In addition, tag the next person after you to keep things moving.
7) Trades are allowed. All participants must verify the terms of the trade.
8) ThirtyFifteenTen rounds of snake drafting.
9) I'm open to any rule changes y'all propose.
10) If a drafter may not be able to make their pick, they may select a proxy or proxies to select on their behalf. Proxies must be stated in thread.
11) When realistic, do not name unselected draft-eligible acts.
Thirty rounds seems like a lot, but sure, I’ll play.
i initially had 20 rounds, but changed to 30. the target is by the end you are a little sick of the draft, but not totally over it. like 50 rounds for old people would be way too much.

Fuck it, make it 80 rounds, it fits the theme better. Would really put a premium on selecting healthy people because a lot would die by the time we finish it
