Damn. I’ve been turning this on and off all day but I can’t say I’ve heard much worse or weak live than this Porter Robinson set. It’s not that the musicians are bad or anything but its appeal is to the lowest hanging bullshit there is. I’ve seen him several times going back even 10+ years ago so am not inclined to hate. But this shit is soft.

great day one. hot obviously but what can you do, it’s texas after all.
mannequin p word was rowdy as hell norah jones is a queen, probably would’ve been way better closing one of the small stages but i digress dexter and the moonrocks tried their hardest but BMI is just a rough stage foster was having some technical issues for the first song but once they locked in it was really damn good porter man. god damn. stapleton was the perfect friday night headliner imo and as long as country headliners keep drawing and playing like he did, i’ll continue to welcome them

Haha. I love you anyway but that’s not for me. I miss Porter as a newcomer DJ playing that hard dub. Then he went in a few different directions and did those different productions and shows - some I liked some were eh. His band was good and the sound was clean but it sounded contrived. To be fair I could only take a few minutes of it. So maybe it got more intense or intricate or maybe they jammed out. I’ll defer to you on that. Glad you had a good day though. I’m going to watch a few sets today that I’m excited about. I do miss going to ACL and some of my favorite food options year after year. Have a good day 2.
Hermanos solid. I don’t generally listen to Western. But they understand it and bring that Mexican type approach which sounds good. Looking forward to Vince and PL later.
PL also dominating. Not ultra packed @ Honda because of pop-now fans but that is where anyone worth even a little bit of who they are should be. Guessing Dua Lipa is fine and I’ll watch it tomorrow. But otherwise /come on man

I respect him, Danny Brown and ScHoolboy Q for sticking to their roots and ideals and making music they want to make. so glad they're all still going strong
I had VIP yesterday, Dua was great, massive fucking crowd, but the sound was atrocious. Saw the last of Pretty Lights and it looked incredible, almost wish I would’ve seen the whole set, but I’m going to the three night run in Boston and don’t know if I’ll ever pony up the money for a typical Dua show.
The guitarist wasn't bad but where I can’t buy in is that the music itself relates with the level of like Night Ranger or Loverboy. Obviously the lyrical content is above that and is inspirational for a lot of people. But the music doesn’t do anything for me. I also don’t like Dom Dolla which is unfortunate since the football game is lightning delayed. :/ I want to watch Tyler later so maybe I’ll tune back in.
Sturgill is usually too country for me but I still dig him. Qveen Herby I’m guessing pop fans are satisfied. She’s gifted but also not for me. It’s gimmicky to me though does have honesty. Just not some music I want to hear.
